The internet has been alight with rumors that Hole were about to reunite after Courtney Love teased some kind of “tour” with her onetime bandmate Melissa Auf der Maur. Courtney has said in the past that Hole won’t reunite, and turns out she hasn’t changed her mind (at least, not yet). In a reply to Spin‘s Instagram post about the supposed reunion, she wrote, “No hole reunion , @xmadmx playing some shows, new songs , ✨🥚🥚🥚@katemossagency they didn’t see us , patsy 😎😎.”
Love has had a new solo album in the works for a while now, and Auf der Maur recorded vocals for it last spring, as she revealed in a recent New York Times feature. In the comments to her Instagram post that started the speculation, Love replied to someone asking “is this a drill or do I need to get my purse?!??,” writing “Died Blonde 2026 new songs . not 94.” Hopefully we’ll learn more about that soon.
Meanwhile, Auf der Maur’s new memoir Even the Good Girls Will Cry is out on March 17.
