Coheed and Cambria have just launched a new 7″ single with “The Joke,” a non-album track from the sessions for 2022’s Vaxis – Act II: A Window of the Waking Mind, and B-side “Deranged,” a remixed and remastered version of the song that originally came out as part of 2011’s Batman: Arkham City soundtrack. “The Joke” is a twitchy prog freakout done in the way that only Coheed can do, and singer/guitarist Claudio Sanchez says, “The meaning behind ‘The Joke’ is basically, if you need a punching bag, I’ll be that guy.” The song comes with a video that features Al The Killer from Coheed’s The Armory Wars universe “being bullied by a nefarious prankster.” Check it out below.

Coheed are also gearing up for a couple tours, one with Primus, followed by one with Incubus (who will be performing Morning View in its entirety). The Incubus tour hits NYC’s Madison Square Garden on August 29. All dates are listed below.
