Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band kicked off their three-night run at NJ’s Metlife Stadium on Wednesday night. While setlists for this tour have been mostly uniform — a three-hour tour-de-force of crowd-pleasers — Bruce did do something special for his home state crowd, playing “Sherry Darling” for the first time on this tour, taking the place of “Candy’s Room” halfway through the main set. They opened the show with “Lonesome Day,” which made its tour debut at the show before in the Boston area. Watch video of both below.
Otherwise it was business as usual, with a well-plotted setlist including “Out in the Street,” “Atlantic City,” “Wrecking Ball,” “Badlands,” “Born to Run,” “Glory Days,” “Dancing in the Dark,” “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out,” and more before Bruce ended the show solo with “I’ll See You in My Dreams.” Check out the full MetLife Night 1 setlist, and lots of fan-shot video, below.
