Bizhiki (Dylan Bizhikiins Jennings, Joe Rainey, S. Carey) prep debut LP, share “Gigawaabamin (Come Through)” ft Mike Sullivan & Bon Iver

Bizhiki is the Minneapolis trio of Dylan Bizhikiins Jennings, pow-wow innovator Joe Rainey and Bon Iver collaborator Sean Carey (S. Carey). Bizhikiins Jennings has been singing within the powwow tradition for most of his life around the Lac Du Flambeau and Lac Courte Oreilles reservations in Central Wisconsin, and the seeds of Bizhiki were planted at the 2015 Eau Claires Festival. Their debut album, Unbound, will be out July 19 via Jagjaguwar.

The first single from the album is “Gigawaabamin (Come Through)” which mixes pow-wow with electronic voice modulation and samples and beats for a unique blend. It also features contributions from Native singer Mike Sullivan, Justin Vernon (Bon Iver) and Stephen Garrington (Low). “[The track] was first born out of (Justin) jamming with Mike, as well as Joe and Dylan years ago,” says S. Carey.
