Melbourne’s Dag make the kind of rough-hewn, strummy pop that Australians seem particularly good at. Their new album, Benefits of Solitude, out 24 February 2017 via Bedroom Suck records. The first single is the album’s warm title track which belies darker lyrical directions. “‘Benefits of Solitude’ is a song about my childhood,” say frontman Dusty Anastassiou. “Growing up on a cattle property in Central Queensland…seeing the impact of rural isolation on the ones you love – depression, alcoholism.
