Earlier this year, we hoped 2017 would see the release of the new Arctic Monkeys album, but bassist Nick O’Malley just said in an interview with For the Ride that 2018 will be the year, as Pitchfork points out. “If it isn’t [out by 2018], we’ve got problems,” he said. He also mentioned that they started recording earlier this month.
Arctic Monkeys’ last album was 2013’s great AM. Since then, Alex Turner released a new Last Shadow Puppets album and EP, and Matt Helders made an album and toured with Iggy Pop.
