Anxious bassist Sam Allen (also of End On End and G.I. Bill) broke his tibia while performing with Wreckage at This Is Hardcore, and now he needs surgery and is being forced to miss out when Anxious open The Wonder Years‘ The Greatest Generation 10th anniversary tour. Photographer Michael Dubin has launched a GoFundMe to help with medical bills and recover from losses caused by missing the tour. Dubin writes:
Last weekend, while performing with Wreckage at TIHC, my friend Sam from Anxious broke his tibia right beneath the knee joint. He is going in for surgery again next week to have the bone set with a metal plate and some screws.
This is another setback for Sam, he just recovered in June from a surgery he had on the same leg in April. The doctor is now saying he will be off of his feet for at least six more weeks following this surgery. Unfortunately, this means he will have to miss an Anxious tour this fall that was going to help pay his rent for the next few months, and also prohibits him from getting another job.
Currently, he has no idea what he’s looking at in the way of medical bills which will definitely be quite a burden on top of his normal living expenses while he is out of work for most of the rest of this year. Let’s pitch in and ease his financial stress so he can focus on his recovery. Small or large, every contribution counts. Let’s help get Sam back on stage where he belongs!
