ANOHNI, never one to shy away from politics and social causes, is embarking on an eight-day, 110-mile walk across the Western Australian desert with more than 100 Martu (the indigenous people of Western Australia) from in and around Parnngurr in protest against Mitsubishi and Cameco’s proposed open cart uranium mine in the Western Australian Desert (that would be on Martu traditional lands).
This is not the first time Antony has supported the Martu people. She spent time with them in 2013 as well, and has since donated concert proceeds, sung at benefits, and more. ANONHI’s full statement was made on her Instagram in a post you can read below.
