So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
THE KLITTENS – “TAXI”
Dutch indie band The Klittens will release their debut album Have a Heart on September 25 and here’s the new single in all it’s ramshackle charming glory. “Taxi speaks to our sense of restraint, both in its sound and in its story,” the band say.

RECOLLECTION – “INTRUSIVE THOUGHTS”
Recollection, the project featuring members of Haywire, Rude Awakening, Criminal Instinct, and other hardcore bands, have announced a new EP, Intrusive Thoughts, due out August 28 via DAZE. The first single is the title track, which features guest vocals from Cherish Hynes. “‘Intrusive Thoughts’ is about being in a relationship and not being able to avoid self sabotage,” Hynes says. “Once you have a thought in your head it’s next to impossible to get it out. Leading to obsessive over thinking to the point of effecting sleep patterns and every day life. All of this fault inevitably falling back on oneself.”

TY SEGALL – “RUNNING TO NOWHERE”
Ty Segall will release Chrome, his heaviest record in a while, on August 28 and here’s a new preview track. “Running to Nowhere” rips but also has a few very pretty passages.

OVERMONO – “KNIGHT IN SHINING PRADA” (FT. JOHN JOSEPH HOLT)
Overmono’s new album Pure Devotion is out on August 7 via XL, and they’ve given us another preview with “Knight in Shining Prade,” featuring John Joseph Holt. About his lyrics, Holt says, “My brother Thomas Edward Holt had an incredibly adventurous soul that inspired everyone around him. He was a carpenter, a photographer – an artist in the truest sense. He took his own life on January 10th, 2017, aged 31. To make something so positive out of something so crushing is the greatest gift. May this song remind people of loved ones they have lost and bring them closer to their hearts. If we play it loud enough, do you think they will hear us in heaven?”

GREGOR MCMURRAY – “MASSIVE” FT UFFIE
Where’s your head at? For Gregory McMurray, it’s with Uffie on this early-’00s-style banger.

KHAMSIN – “THOUSAND YARD STARE” & “ABACUS”
Khamsin, the Nashville emo/post-hardcore band that began as singer and guitarist Jacob Curry’s solo project, have released a pair of singles, their first new music since 2022. “Took our time and against all odds, here they are,” they say. “Listen loudly.”

BABEHOVEN – “LASAGNA”
Babehoven have announced new album I See Them, I See Me which will be out September 18 via Double Double Whammy. Check out laid-back first single “Lasagna.” Says singer Maya Bon, “Sometimes when you’re deeply intertwined, you’re so close you can’t really see one another. You want the other to break in two, to reveal what’s underneath. You keep yourself busy, you fill your day with tasks but the other person is waving in the wind all around you, you feel them everywhere. You feel small, stuck, and frantic all at once.”

MASTODON – “SNAKES FOR DINNER” (FT. JOSH HOMME)
Mastodon officially announced their ninth album, and shared a second new single, “Snakes for Dinner,” which features Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme. Read more and pre-order one of our exclusive vinyl variants here.
