So many artists, so many songs, so little time. KACEY MUSGRAVES – “MIDDLE OF NOWHERE”
Kacey Musgraves’ sixth album, Middle of Nowhere, arrives on May 1, and ahead of her surprise addition to weekend two of Coachella, she’s shared the folky, twangy title track.

S.G. GOODMAN – “PEPPER” (BUTTHOLE SURFERS COVER)
“Being I was a young child when I first heard ‘Pepper,’ I am certain that I loved the excuse to request a band where I could say ‘Butthole’ without consequence,” S.G. Goodman says of her new Butthole Surfers cover. “To be honest, it still brings me joy. The adult me understands that the lasting appeal of the Butthole Surfers would melt into my own work, simply because of their distinctive approach to making music that felt right to them. The only covers that excite me are ones where the outcome is evident of the original’s influence on the artist as a whole. My cover of “Pepper” feels like me and it feels like the same intrigue I experienced when hearing the original: to be left wondering what is actually going on here?”

SLAYYYTER – “BROKE BITCH FREE$TYLE”
Following her new album Wor$t Girl in America and ahead of her second weekend at Coachella, Slayyyter has shared the studio version of “Broke Bitch Free$tyle,” which she’s been playing live for a few years.

DEAD CAN DANCE – “DEATH CULTS”
Dead Can Dance released their first new song in five years in March, and now they’re back with another. Like “Our Day Will Come,” this one only features Brendan Perry — Lisa Gerrard where are you?

JESSE MALIN – “HOLLYWOOD FOREVER”
Jesse Malin’s new single “Hollywood Forever” pays tribute to the late Howie Pyro. “Howie could get along with anybody,” Jesse says. “Howie and I became friends when we were kids in Queens, because of our bond over music. It brought us together. He could be friends with both Johnny and Joey Ramone. Hells Angels, skinheads, drag queens, comic-book nerds, art collectors, fashionistas—they all loved him. And he would always say, if he had to go, Hollywood Forever Cemetery is the place he’d want to be buried.”

STOVE GOD COOKS, NIGEL SYLVESTER & CHELLO – “BRICK AFTER”
We’re still waiting on Stove God Cooks’ anticipated second album, All This For Me?, and there haven’t been updates on that, but he has shared a new collaboration with Nigel Sylvester and Chello, “Brick After.”

POPE – “SICK MINUTE” (FT. RATBOYS’ JULIA STEINER)
New Orleans band Pope are releasing their first album in eight years, BFM, on April 30 via Rite Field. New single “Sick Minute” features Ratboys’ Julia Steiner. Matt Seferian says it’s “about trying your hardest, just because it’s always good to give it your best sho. That there’s something super special about giving it all you got. That you’re not replaceable and that no one can be you, so don’t let the haters get to.”

DOUGLAS DIAMOND – “(JESUS) TAKE THE WHEEL”
Swedish artist Douglas Diamond will release Welcome To Diamondland on May 22 and here is a low-fi, DIY early taste.
