9 New Songs Out Today

So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.

JIM LEGXACY – “AGGRESSIVE”

UK artist JIm Legxacy has signed to XL, and his first single for the label is the clubby rap&B track “Aggressive.”

BEN QUAD – “EPHEMERA”

OKC emo band Ben Quad’s first EP for Pure Noise, Ephemera, drops on October 25, and today they’ve shared its third of five songs. The new single is also the title track, and it’s another great example of Ben Quad’s ability to fuse ’90s Midwest emo and dramatic 2000s melodic screamo.

TRIBULATION – “MURDER IN RED”

Shapeshifting Swedish metal band Tribulation go in a goth rock, entirely non-metal direction on new single “Murder In Red.” Their new album Sub Rosa in Æternum comes out November 1 via Century Media.

CAROLINE SAYS – “DUST”

Caroline Says’ new album The Lucky One is out this Friday, and ahead of its release she’s given us a final preview with “Dust,” a twangy folk track inspired by a road trip she took. “I drove to West Texas to see the Davis Mountains,” she says. “I wanted to see the future and I wanted to see the past, but a dust storm prevented me from seeing anything at all.”

UNCLE DADDY (EX FAT WHITE FAMILY) – “BLOOD”

Uncle Daddy is a new band featuring former Fat White Family members Nathan Saoudi and Joseph Pancucci, plus Richard Wilson (Permeo / Rognvald). They’ve just shared their first song, the lush, dark and luxurious “Blood.”

S.C.A.B. – “CAUGHT MY EYE”

S.C.A.B. frontman Sean Carmago offers these talking points in regards to his band’s new song: “Noticing your own wandering eye. Exploring shame. Asking for a lot with little in return. Sharing a song with you. Non-monogamy. Fear of being seen. Thinking about someone else. FaceTime. Unemployment.” S.C.A.B.’s new EP Rose Colored Glasses is out October 25.

KIM DEAL – “A GOOD TIME PUSHED”

Kim Deal has shared a third song from her upcoming debut solo album Nobody Loves You More. “A Good Time Pushed” is the most Breeders-y song we’ve heard from the album yet, very firmly in fuzzy indie rock territory, and it features her bandmates Jim McPherson and sister Kelley Deal.

YOUNG KNIVES – “DISSOLUTION”

Long-running UK band Young Knives have announced their sixth album, Landfill, which will be out January 24 via Gadzook. The band produced it themselves and it was mixed by Mike Lindsay of Tuung. Here’s the first single.

SECRET WORLD – “THE WAY IT GOES”

Australian post-hardcore/melodic hardcore band Secret World (members of Speed, Downside, etc) have announced their debut EP, Guilt Is Good, and they shared new single “The Way It Goes.” Read more here.
