So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
LOS CAMPESINOS! – “KMS”
As we near the release of Los Campesinos!’s new album All Hell, we get another great new single, and this one features keyboardist Kim Paisey taking lead vocals.

DOWNHAUL – “SINKER”

MECHANICAL CANINE – “MECHANICAL CANINE SAVES EMO”
Philly’s Mechanical Canine have announced their third album, To My Chagrin, due August 2 via Don Giovanni (their label debut). The first single is a scrappy, indie-poppy emo-punk song that’s here to save the genre.

DIME – DIME EP
Miami’s DIME first released this self-titled EP in February via Feral Child, and now Feral Child have teamed with New Morality Zine to give it a wider release and first-ever vinyl pressing. It’s in the post-hardcore/grunge crossover territory that’s been very popular lately, but more on the heavy throat-shredding side than the hazy side. Cool stuff!

HONEYGLAZE – “COLD CALLER”
London trio Honeyglaze will release their second record of 2024, Real Deal, on September 20 via Fat Possum. Says the band’s Anouska Sokolow: “It’s funny, because it’s a complete dynamic reversal: the last person you’d usually want attention from is a cold caller. Can you imagine how lonely someone must feel if you aren’t getting enough from them? Wishful thinking and delusion determine your reality more than you’d think.”

CHILDISH GAMBINO – “LITHONIA”
Donald Glover has announced what he says will be his final Childish Gambino album. It’s titled Bando Stone & The New World and will be out July 19 via RCA. First single “Lithonia” was co-written and produced with Max Martin (Britney Spears, Coldplay), film/TV composer Ludwig Göransson (The Mandalorian, Oppenheimer), and Michael Uzowuru (SZA, Frank Ocean, Beyoncé) and is a stadium-sized pop-rock anthem with a chorus of “Nobody gives a fuck.”

THE BUG CLUB – “LONSDALE SLIPONS”
Welsh duo The Bug Club have announced their first album for Sub Pop, which will be out August 30. It’s already a contender for Longest Title of the Year: On the Intricate Inner Workings of the System By Means of Popular Music Or the Contemplation Of Pretty Faces, Tinned Bubbles and Strife. Say the band, “That’s right the title is long as fuck and so is our stubborn will to carry on doing this crazy whatever this is we’re doing.” It may take less time to listen to this song than to say the album title (if you’re a very slow enunciator).
