So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
JANE WEAVER – “LOVE IN CONSTANT SPECTACLE”
Jane Weaver worked with PJ Harvey collaborator John Parish on this new single. “It’s about searching for joy, wanting to love and feel loved, then uncovering it in unusual places and in the smallest, hidden things in life,” Jane says. “Magnified under rocks and stones, it explores connecting with nature and your surroundings as opposed to other people – focusing on autonomy, new beginnings and feeling bewitched.”

DEATH LENS – “LIMOUSINE”
LA punks Death Lens pair shouted vocals and an insistent mid-tempo groove on their latest single, “Limousine.” “‘Limousine’ pushes the narrative of how lessons learned through media, socials, and television never benefit the underdogs,” the band told AltPress. “Instead, it gives us examples of life expectations we should follow and rules we need to agree with to reach their level of high standards. It’s our angry anthem and our light at the end of the tunnel for those looking to find motivation and joy in what they have and what we can genuinely attain without feeling pushed to change, to not be ourselves.”

DANIELLE DURACK – “SHIRT SONG”
Nashville-based singer-songwriter Danielle Durack announced a new album, Escape Artist, due out February 16. The lead single is “Shirt Song,” which she says “serves as a bit of a chronological transition from my last release. It’s an upbeat breakup song about feeling just a little bit better.”

CLEMENTINE WAS RIGHT – “THERE ARE NO MORE ALMOND TREES”
Denver’s Clementine Was Right make folky, literate indie rock that takes inspiration from stuff like The Mountain Goats, Neutral Milk Hotel, and The Hold Steady, and you can hear those vibes coming through on their catchy new single “There Are No More Almond Trees.”

INSPECTOR SPACETIME – “BESTFRIEND”
Icelandic trio Inspector Spacetime just released the Extravaganza EP, their first new music in a while. This is the bouncy lead single.

MO TROPER – “CITGO SIGN”
Quirky power-pop artist Mo Troper is releasing an album of Jon Brion covers — all songs the composer has never officially released — on Friday. Here’s an early taste.

90 DAY MEN – “UNTITLED 01”
Numero Group’s latest love letter to the ’90s will be a box set for 90 Day Men, the Midwest post-hardcore group (who extended into the early-’00s) that included Brian Case (Disappears, FACS), Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe (Lichens), Cayce Key, and Chandler McWilliams. Titled We Blame Chicago, the 5-LP set includes the band’s three studio albums, remastered by Heba Kadry, along with a 2001 Peel Session, EPs, singles, outtakes and other rare and unreleased material.
