So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
PURITY RING – “MANY LIVES” & “PART II”
Purity Ring are back with their first new music since their 2023 collaboration with Black Dresses. “In a lot of ways, ‘many lives’ + ‘pt ii’ is the epicenter of things we’ve been working on recently,” they say. “It’s like the sun we’ve been orbiting around for the past few years. It feels pitch black and impossible, but also has in it all the things we can make out of that. We’re just really excited about making music at this point in our career and we felt a kind of vastness and possibility when making this.”

GINA BIRCH (The Raincoats) – “DOOM MONGER”
“This is about the world going to hell in a handcart, feeling overwhelmed, but yearning for peace and happiness,” says Raincoats co-founder Gina Birch about “Doom Monger” from her upcoming second solo album, Trouble.

GWENNO – “Y GATH”
“Y Gath means The Cat,” says Gwenno of the Welsh title to her new single from upcoming album Utopia. “I just don’t know how I feel about cats, you know? But I also think it’s because I am a cat in many ways. I see myself in these creatures and I’m part envious, part disgusted by them. So it’s a song about cats and birds nodding at you, and the style of the song evolved quite naturally into something very familiar and Welsh. And then when I asked Huw (H Hawkline) and Cate (Le Bon) to be on it, it just made complete sense. We all knew what it needed to be, because we’ve all grown up on S4C and 70s psychedelic rock music, and Welsh language music. So we didn’t need to have a big conversation, we just know what this is about.”

OOG BOGO – “IS THIS LOVE”
Oog Bogo, aka Kevin Boog of Meatbodies, has announced new album Cowgirls which will be out July 25 via In the Red. “Is This Love” speeds down a dark, gothy alley of the garage rock street map.

DARI BAY – “THE JOKE”
Zack James of VT’s Robber Robber also leads Dari Bay who just released this crunchy new single that scratches hazy ’90s power pop itches as well. You can catch them on tour with Dutch Interior, too.

THE STARTING LINE – “SENSE OF HUMOR”
The Starting Line announced their first full length album in 18 years and shared the lead single, which you can read more about here.

MAX RICHTER ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM ‘SLEEP CIRCLE’ & SHOWS (HEAR “DREAM 11 /MOTH-LIKE STARS PT.2”)
