7 New Songs Out Today

So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.

MISS GRIT – “TOURIST MIND”

Miss Grit is back with their first new music since their 2023 debut LP Follow the Cyborg, maximalist electro anthem “Tourist Mind.” “It’s about how curiosity for other people’s thoughts can slowly disorient you and make it harder to return to yourself,” Margaret Sohn says.

MILDRED – “SAUVIE’S NUDE BEACH”

Bay Area band mildred, made up of four singer/songwriters, just released the mild EP and will follow that with the red EP on December 5 via Memorials of Distinction. “Sauvie’s Nude Beach” should appeal to those who like laid-back folk rock with a dash of choogle.

EARTHEATER – “8”

Eartheater is celebrating the 10th anniversary of her albums Metalepsis and RIP Chrysalis with “8,” a reworked version of her song “Infinity.” “This is how I always imagined it would sound,” she says. It’s from the new 10th anniversary edition of Metalepsis, out today (10/20) via Hausu Mountain.

SOFT CELL – “MARTIN” (THE HACKER 2025 REMIX)

Synthpop greats Soft Cell will release a deluxe edition of The Art Of Falling Apart next week and alongside it is an EP featuring new remixes of “Martin” including this one by The Hacker.

MIRAH – “CATCH MY BREATH”

Mirah has shared her first new music in 7 years, “Catch My Breath.” “When this song first came out it had a sonically pensive aura,” she says. “I could tell it was a keeper, but I wanted to try some different presentations, play with it a little. Could the wound spring of questioning and longing and relationship anxiety sound bombastic, or fun, or like an 80’s pop song? That’s what we went for in the studio, and with Jenn, Meg, and Andrew Maguire in there with me it really just took off. I love how the song expressed its malleability to me and then took so well to the treatment.”

HORSE JUMPER OF LOVE – “ANGER IS AN ARCH”

The deluxe edition of Horse Jumper of Love’s 2024 album Disaster Trick arrives this Friday (10/20) via Run for Cover, and they’ve shared another b-side from it, “Anger is an Arch.”

ONEOHTRIX POINT NEVER – “FOR RESIDUE,” “BUMPY,” AND “LIFEWORLD”

Here are the first three songs on 0PN’s upcoming album Tranquilizer.
