So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
ST. VINCENT – “TIEMPOS VIOLENTOS” FT. MON LAFERTE
St. Vincent reinterpreted her All Born Screaming track “Violent Times” with Mon Laferte. “When I first heard the Spanish version, I felt a deep pull,” Mon says. “It was beautiful and haunting. I wanted to give it my own voice, to make it mine too – and to do it alongside an artist I’ve long admired.” St. Vincent adds, “Collaborating with Mon gave the song new shape, new blood, new depth. Like a dream falling into another dream.”

CHRISTINE AND THE QUEENS & CERRONE – “CATCHING FEELINGS”
Christine and the Queens and Cerrone are releasing a 4-track EP together, and they’ve given us the first preview with “Catching feelings.”

NEIL YOUNG & THE CHROME HEARTS – “TALKIN TO THE TREES”
Neil Young has given us another preview of his debut album with his band The Chrome Hearts with the title track, “Talkin to the Trees.”

SHERYL CROW – “I KNOW”
Sheryl Crow’s new single “I Know” is in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month. “In a recent moment when I was really struggling, I picked up my guitar and wrote a song,” she says. “I sent it to some friends and got such a strong reaction that I’m going to put it out this week – it’s called ‘I Know.’ Sometimes when we’re struggling, just knowing that another soul can relate to what we’re feeling makes things a little bit better. SAINT ETIENNE – “GLAD” FT TOM ROWLANDS (CHEMICAL BROS) & JIMI GOODWIN (DOVES)
Saint Etienne are going on hiatus after 35 years but they’re going out with a bang — a guest filled album titled International. The first single is fantastic — a classic sounding Saint Etienne song featuring Tom Rowlands of The Chemical Brothers and Jimi Goodwin of Doves.
