So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
HACHIKU & TUSHARA ROSE – “MERRY KISSMAS”
Hachiku, aka Australian singer-songwriter Anika Ostendorf, has a new album titled The Joys of Being Pure at Heart out in February but has also released this new holiday song made with Tushara Rose. “My friend Tushara Rose and I first met 10 years ago as exchange students in Naarm/Melbourne and since then we’ve been writing fun little songs together whenever we can,” Anika says. “I visited Tushara in Nottingham a number of years ago, and during one long evening in her student accommodation, we put verses and instruments to an Xmas jingle her mum, Shyama Perera, had created during Tushara’s childhood. The song, ‘Merry Kissmas,’ became a recurring holiday favourite among our friends and family. Now, eight years later, we’ve finally decided to give it the official release it deserves.”

THE REDS, PINKS & PURPLES – “DON’T BE SO MORBID AT CHRISTMAS”
“Happy Holidays?,” is a very Glenn Donaldson greeting this time of year and his new yuletide ditty owes a little to both classic Phil Spector and the gloomy indie musician of your choice.
ICHIKO AOBA – “FLAG”
Ichiko Aoba’s new album Luminescent Creatures comes out in February, and she’s given us a second early taste with the delicate, minimal “Flag.”

YOU, INFINITE (THIS WILL DESTROY YOU) – “THROUGHLINES”
In addition to there now being two versions of This Will Destroy You, TWDY’s Jeremy Galindo and former/original TWDY bassist Raymond Brown now have a new project together called You, Infinite. Their self-titled debut album arrives February 28 via Pelagic, and the gorgeous post-rock of lead single “Throughlines” doesn’t fall far from the This Will Destroy You tree.

SAM AMIDON – “FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS” (ORNETTE COLEMAN COVER)
Sam Amidon’s new album, Salt River, will be out in January via Rough Trade imprint River Lea. It was produced by Sam Gendel and hes’s just shared another track from it, a cover of Ornette Coleman’s “Friends and Neighbors.”

Q LAZZARUS – “GOODBYE HORSES” (NEW WAVE VERSION)
If you’ve been waiting 30+ to hear a new music from enigmatic cult artist Q Lazzarus, who only released one single, good news is coming your way in February. Till then here’s a totally different version of her much loved single “Goodby Horses” that you may know from Silence of the Lambs.
