So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
ICE SPICE – “PHAT BUTT”
Ice Spice has shared a new single from her upcoming album Phat Butt, and you can definitely hear the influence of her “Princess Diana” collaborator Nicki Minaj on this one.

ALICE GLASS – “REMAINS” FT. CLIP
“When I first heard Clip’s music, I immediately thought her voice has a unique magic to it,” Alice Glass says of her new collaborative single, “Remains.” “Clip has always been so kind to me and when I thought about who I wanted to collaborate with for this project, she was the first artist that came to mind. I’m really proud of what we created together and grateful for her friendship!”

HEADIE ONE – “TIPSY” (ft. AITCH)
UK rapper Headie One has shared another taste of The Last One ahead of its release next week (6/28), and this one’s got a chilled-out, Afrobeats-leaning feel.

BIG FREEDIA – “HOLATTA”
New abortion access benefit compilation NOISE FOR NOW VOL. 2 is out today, and you can hear a couple more tracks from it, including a new Big Freedia track, “Holatta.”

JULIA JACKLIN – “DEAD FROM THE WAIST DOWN” (CATATONIA COVER)
Also from NOISE FOR NOW VOL. 2, Julia Jacklin’s previously unreleased cover of Catatonia’s “Dead from the Waist Down.”

GLORILLA – “TGIF”
GloRilla has been on fire this year with her Ehhthang Ehhthang mixtape, its Megan Thee Stallion-featuring hit “Wanna Be,” the remix of that song with Cardi B, and more, and now she drops another instantly-satisfying rap banger, “TGIF.”

PARIS HILTON – “I’M FREE” FT. RINA SAWAYAMA
Paris Hilton is releasing her second album Infinite Icon, on September 6, and Rina Sawayama features on the latest single, glossy pop track “I’m Free.”

BLIND GIRLS – “LOVELESS”
Australian screamo band Blind Girls have shared another dose of impassioned fury from their upcoming LP An Exit Exists.

LONDON GRAMMAR – “INTO GOLD”
“‘Into Gold’ is about mourning loss and overcoming heartbreak,” London Grammar’s Hannah Reid says of the latest single from the band’s new album, The Greatest Love. “It’s interesting, as I think it’s a bit more like old London Grammar. As much as I love our old music, I’ve moved into a different phase where I notice how different my voice sounds on the older material; it’s a lot sadder. I think in our newer material I might be touching on things that are sad but telling the story in more of a celebratory way. With ‘Into Gold’ it’s been carved up and dressed up so beautifully by Dan and Dot.”

CAMILA CABELLO – “CHANEL NO.5”
Camila Cabello has been going in a more experimental pop direction with the recent singles from her El Guincho and Jasper Harris-produced album C,XOXO (out next week), and she continues that same trend with “Chanel No.5.”

GRACIE ABRAMS – “US.” FT. TAYLOR SWIFT
Gracie Abrams’ second album, The Secret of Us, should appeal to fans of her tourmate Taylor Swift. It’s out today, and Taylor features on the fifth track, “us.”

MORGAN WADE – “MOTH TO A FLAME”
Morgan Wade has shared a new single from Obsessed, and this one’s a bare-bones, acoustic alt-country song that finds her getting very personal/vulnerable.

EMPIRE OF THE SUN – “CHERRY BLOSSOM”
Empire of the Sun’s fourth album, Ask That God, is out on July 26 via Capitol Records, and the latest single is “Cherry Blossom,” which Emperor Steele says is “about seeing the majesty and beauty that lies before our very eyes. Making sure you don’t lose what is precious by taking it for granted. It’s essentially a love song, ‘our souls are sewing our fortune’….love is a traveller, it has no expiry date, it moves through the expanse of time, to far off places, through far off times.”

FIONN REGAN – “ISLANDS”
Irish folk-pop singer Fionn Regan has shared his first single in five years, a sunny, breezy song called “Islands.”

ARIANA GRANDE, BRANDY, MONICA – “THE BOY IS MINE (REMIX)”
Ariana Grande has shared a new remix of “the boy is mine” from her new album eternal sunshine, featuring Brandy and Monica from the original 1998 single of the same name.

CHENAYDER – “TEEN HEARTBREAK”
Rising neo-soul singer Chenayder continues her string of singles with another lush new track, “Teen Heartbreak.”

LAURA JANE GRACE & THE MISSISSIPPI MEDICALS – “ALL FUCKED OUT”
Against Me!’s Laura Jane Grace has shared her first single with her The Mississippi Medicals band. “Back in 2021, I sat down in my office to do some songwriting,” she says. “Not knowing what specifically to write about that day, I challenged myself to write a song similar to whatever the current #1 hit in the world was at the time. I made the challenge to myself without knowing exactly what that song was so I had to look it up, and as it turned out at that moment, the current #1 song in the world was ‘Butter’ by BTS. Now, for those of you not familiar with the song ‘Butter’, it’s about how the singer is ‘smooth like butter’.’Hmmm…’ I thought to myself. ‘If they’re smooth like Butter, what am I?’ And the answer to that question is ‘All Fucked Out’ — not to be confused with ‘All Fucked Up’, mind you. ‘All Fucked Out’ as in zero fucks left to give. The song quickly became a staple in my live set and I’ve taken a couple different previous attempts at recording it, but it wasn’t until Me, Matt [Patton], Mikey [Erg] and Paris [Campbell Grace] got together this past December in Water Valley, Mississippi at Matt’s Studio, Dial Back Sound, that it all came together and the song was recorded the way it was meant to be heard.”

FULCI – “ROTTEN APPLE”
Italian death metal band Fulci have announced a new album, Duck Face Killings, due August 9 via 20 Buck Spin. “Rotten Apple” finds them churning out brutal, thrashy, old school-style death metal.

GHOST – “THE FUTURE IS A FOREIGN LAND”
As their new film Rite Here Rite Now arrives in theaters, GHOST have shared a previously unreleased track from the soundtrack (which you can pick up on exclusive translucent black ice vinyl).

MUSTARD – “PARKING LOT” (ft. TRAVIS SCOTT)
Fresh off joining Kendrick Lamar at his “Ken & Friends – The Pop Out” concert, Mustard has shared a Travis Scott collab from his upcoming album Faith of a Mustard Seed, due July 26.

MAXWELL STERN – “YOU DESERVE A GREAT LOVE”
Maxwell Stern of Signals Midwest has announced a new solo album, In The Good Light, due August 9 via Lauren Records. Lead single “You Deserve A Great Love” takes influence from Tom Petty and you can hear those vibes coming through in the breezy heartland rock of this track.

FEVER RAY – “WHAT THEY CALL US” (ÂME REMIX)
Karin Driejer has handed over Fever Ray single “What They Call Us” to German house/techno duo Âme who haven’t changed it too much from the original but giving it an four-on-the-floor beat.

THE DARE – “PERFUME”
NYC’s The Dare, who revels in / steals from peak ’00s indie sleaze dancefloor hedonism, has announced debut album What’s Wrong With New York? which will be out September 6 via Republic Records. With the announcement comes a new single “Perfume” and a video that’s a clear homage to vintage CK One commercials.

PEOPLE I LOVE – “BRUISE”
Brooklyn artist Dan Poppa makes folky bedroom pop as People I Love and will release his self-titled debut album on June 24. Check out the latest single, the downcast “Bruise.”

JOHN LY – “STOLEN”
Inspiration sometimes comes from unlikely sources. For nashville electro artist John Ly’s it was having his car stolen in front of his workplace. “Everything was taken inside including my spare tire,” John says. “My car was found the next day but to have someone take your things and knowing your address was completely terrifying. This was written as an end to a chapter of worrying.” He managed to turn a bummer 24 hours into a very catchy banger.

MELENAS – “BANG” (PEANUT BUTTER WOLF REMIX)
Spanish band Melenas are releasing an EP of remixes from last year’s excellent album Ahora. Here’s Peanut Butter Wolf’s spin on “Bang.”

THE DOOZERS – “TIDAL SONG”
The Doozers just don’t make buildings for Fraggles to eat, they also make music. Or this Detroit band called The Doozers do. “Tidal Song” is nice and moody.

JAY WORTHY & DAM-FUNK – “105 WEST” (ft. TY DOLLA $IGN, CHANNEL TRES & DJ QUIK)
West Coast rapper Jay Worthy and electro-funkster Dām-Funk have announced a collaborative album, Magic Hour, and the lead single features Ty Dolla $ign, Channel Tres, DJ Quik, and A-Trak.

WORLDS GREATEST DAD – “TWENTY DEER”
Atlanta’s worlds greatest dad have signed to SideOneDummy for their upcoming sophomore album Better Luck Next Time, and they embrace “redneck emo” on lead single “Twenty Deer.” Read more about it here.
