So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.

LAURA GROVES – “YES”
London-based artist Laura Groves announced a new EP, Yes, due out August 1 via Bell Union. She’s shared “Deep Blue,” a dreamy synth pop track which she says is “about asking somebody to be vulnerable and reveal more of their secret world, whilst also trying to embody those things myself. There is a directness to the hard kick drum and opening lines of the song – a confrontation and then an admission of deep feelings, stirred up like a deep blue body of water by the heavily modulated Juno 106 synthesiser. My close friends Joviale and Fabiana Palladino join me on backing vocals in the chorus.”

NOURISHED BY TIME – “BABY BABY”
Nourished by Time’s new album The Passionate Ones is out in less than a month and here’s a new single from it. The video was shot at NJ’s American Dream entertainment complex.

PICKLE DARLING – “VIOLENCE VOYAGER”
New Zealand artist Lukas Mayo announced a new album as Pickle Darling, Battlebots, due out September 5 via Father/Daughter. They’ve also shared a new single, “Violence Voyager.” Mayo calls the accompanying video, directed by Christiane Shortal, “a low poly ode to nature, and the feeling of connecting to something greater. We took our little PS1 mascot and brought them to transcendence.”

SHABASON, KRGOVICH, TENNISCOATS – “LOSE MY BREATH” (MY BLOODY VALENTINE COVER)
“Before the first show of our tour together Saya asked if I knew this My Bloody Valentine song and if I would join them and sing it as part of their set. Of course I was up for it but MBV is a bit of a blindspot for me,” says Nicholas Krgovich of this cover of My Bloody Valentine cover on his album with Joseph Shabason and Japan’s Tenniscoats. “She was like ‘it’s called Lose My Breath’ and then as soon as the wordless oooh’s happened I was like ‘oh! That one!!!’ I had a cassette copy of Isn’t Anything that I got at a thrift store while in high school and it was in my old Volvo as a teenager. I don’t remember listening to that tape all that much but I remember loving that melody, and I still do. I’m glad we made a recording of it for the album as a souvenir of the serendipity and much like finally watching The Sopranos I need to put ‘listen to My Bloody Valentine’ near the top of my to-do list.” New album Wao will be out August 29.

TEEN SUICIDE – “FADE 2 BLUE” / “NEW TATTOO”
Teen Suicide’s new two-song single is their first new music since their 2022 album honeybee table at the butterfly feast. “These two songs were recorded in the brief period before Niko and Flip joined our band last year, probably summer / fall 24?,” Sam Ray says. “So it’s just Kit and I on these two tracks, and they’re very home-recorded as so many of the best Teen Suicide songs have been over the years! So excited to finally have them up so you can all hear, I hope you like them as much as we do, and I hope it makes yall excited as we are for our next album, which will be quite a big shock after these… but in a good way, I promise.”

THE BETHS – “MOTHER, PRAY FOR ME”
“I cried the whole time writing it,” The Beths’ Liz Stokes says of her band’s affecting new single. “It’s not really about my mother, it’s about me — what I hope our relationship is, what I think it is, what it maybe actually is, and what I can or can’t expect out of it.” New album Straight Line Was A Lie is out August 29.

Yves Tumor and bar italia’s Nina Cristante have teamed up for new single, the dark, twisty “WE DONT COUNT.”

SUEDE – “DANCING WITH THE EUROPEANS”
“There’s a sense of optimism about this song,” Suede frontman Brett Anderson says of the band’s swaggering new song. “I remember specifically we were doing a gig in Spain during the time we were writing this album. I was going through a bad time and at a low, personally. But we played this brilliant gig. There was a great connection between me and the audience. I thought of the phrase, dancing with the Europeans. There’s something about that word, Europeans, that I really like. The phrase summed up the experience of looking for connection in a disconnected world. This sense of, where do we find those bonds with our fellow human beings? That show in Spain broke down those barriers.” Suede’s 10th album, Antidepressants, is out September 5.

BAXTER DURY – “SCHADENFREUDE”
There’s more than a little French Touch, and bitter glee, in this new single from Baxter Dury’s upcoming Allbarone. “I loved making ‘Schadenfreude’ at Paul Epworth’s palatial studio,” Baxter says. “As soon as we had the backing track, it remained on loop played through these giant bespoke speakers that looked like Cocaine Daleks. It has this optimistic pulsating French dance feel compromised by this slightly over honest fragile man lyric. Schadenfreude.”

COCHEMEA – “OMEYOCAN”
Saxophonist Cochemea will release new album Vol. 3 on September 26 via Daptone, and this is the first taste. He says: “Omeyocan means “Place of Duality” in Nahuatl. In Aztec cosmology, it’s considered the highest of the heavens—a place outside the temporal world where life and essence originate. Connected to dreams, birth, and the convergence of opposites, it’s linked to emergence and balance. The track mirrors this idea of duality and becoming, starting with a long, winding instrumental melody before shifting into heavy drums and group singing—moving from something inward to something collective.”

DEVENDRA BANHART – “I FEEL JUST LIKE A CHILD (DEMO)”
Devendra Banhart has announced a 20th anniversary edition of his album Cripple Crow which will be out September 12. He says, “Cripple Crow! equal parts gag and pride! What a trip! What a ride! What a time! It’s all a bit embarrassing and yet, it was such a beautifully free time of uncensored experimentation and loving camaraderie that I can’t help but be proud to share this reissue with a bunch of new stuff I can’t believe didn’t get burnt in my ‘burning my archives’ phase! Thank you to everyone for sharing bits of pics and ephemera ya had flopping around!” Here’s one of the bonus tracks, a demo of single “I Feel Just Like a Child.”

NIGHTBUS – “ASCENSION”
Manchester duo Nightbus have announced their debut album, Passenger, which will be out October 10 via Melodic. “Ascension” is euphoric, danceable dreampop.

DUTCH MUSTARD – “LIFE”
London via the Netherlands singer Dutch Mustard (Sarah-Jayne Riedel) has released a new single ahead of her August UK tour. “Life is the soundtrack to that heartbreak you should’ve seen coming,” she says of “Life,” adding, “when everything gets so chaotic and absurd, all you want to do is tap out for a minute.”

THE BERRIES – “ANGELUS”
The Berries, the LA band led by singer-songwriter Matthew Berry (not the British comedian and musician), will release their self-titled debut album on August 29 via Run for Cover. If you dig lush guitar pop “Angelus” fits that bill.

LAWN – “DAVIE”
New Orleans band Lawn have announced new album God Made The Highway which will be out September 19 via Exploding in Sound. “Davie” is sparkling janglepop.

SILVANA ESTRADA – “DIME”
Mexican singer/songwriter Silvana Estrada has announced a new album, Vendrán Suaves Lluvias, due October 17 via Glassnote. It features recent singles “Como un Pájaro” and “Lila Alelí,” as well as the orchestral folk of new single “Dime.”

TITHE – “THE FRUITS OF SPIRITUAL APARTHEID”
Portland metal extremists Tithe have announced a new album, Communion In Anguish, due September 19 via Profound Lore. The first single is the crusty, blackened metalpunk of “The Fruits Of Spiritual Apartheid.”
