So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
GREET DEATH – “SAME BUT DIFFERENT NOW”
Ahead of their upcoming tour, Greet Death have shared a new shoegazy, post-punky single, “Same But Different Now.” It’s their first new song in two years.

CLEARBODY – “IN ANOTHER LIFE”
Clearbody, who are opening one of the legs of the Greet Death tour, have shared a new single today too. Self-recorded and mixed by Jon Markson (Drug Church, Koyo, etc), it finds them leaning into their heavy grungegaze side.

GREG MENDEZ – “ALONE”
Greg Mendez’s new EP and first for Dead Oceans, First Time / Alone, is out this Friday, and he’s shared a second track from it, the pared-back, moving “Alone.”

070 SHAKE – “WINTER BABY” / “NEW JERSEY BLUES”
070 Shake has announced a new album, Petrichor, due November 15 via Def Jam. Its first video features two of the album’s songs, the retro ’50s-esque “Winter Baby” and the bluesy swagger of “New Jersey Blues.” The video was directed by Bennett Watanabe and stars Lily-Rose Depp.

PORRIDGE RADIO – “GOD OF EVERYTHING ELSE”
Porridge Radio have given us one more early taste of their anticipated new album ahead of its release on Friday. About “God of Everything Else,” Dana Margolin says, “After a horrible relationship I felt like a piece of shit on someone’s shoe, like I was so unimportant and completely drained of any power I once had. Lying to myself in order to get that power back. You did this to me, but I’m the god of everything else. Fuck you. A song about dissociating constantly and being in pain constantly, wandering the streets for hours with nowhere to be, never stopping to face the void, always running from it, never healing, trying to find myself in other people, not having a clue where to put my next step forward. Also a song about femininity, wondering how to be a woman, watching someone else do it so effortlessly, wondering if I could be like her would it be easier. Of course not.”

LIVING GATE (YOB, AMENRA, WIEGEDOOD) – “DESTROY AND CONSUME”
Living Gate — the death metal band featuring Aaron Rieseberg (YOB), Lennart Bossu (Oathbreaker, Amenra), Wim Coppers (Oathbreaker, Wiegedood), and Levy Seynaeve (Wiegedood) — will release their first full-length album, Suffer As One, on October 25 via Relapse, and today they’ve shared its brutal new single “Destroy and Consume.”

DEB NEVER – “NOT IN LOVE”
Deb Never has shared her first new music of the year, “Not in Love,” which was co-written and co-produced with Jennifer Decilveo. She’s also signed to GIANT music, who will release her debut LP, due out next year.

NO APOLOGIES – “LIFE”
Sydney hardcore band No Apologies have dropped a kickass, riffy, anthemic new single via Last Ride Records.

ANDREW BIRD & MADISON CUNNINGHAM – “DON’T LET ME DOWN AGAIN”
Andrew Bird and Madison Cunningham’s full-album cover of Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks’ Buckingham Nicks is out this Friday, and ahead of its release they’ve shared a final preview, their rendition of “Don’t Let Me Down Again.”

HOLY BLADE – “BEYOND”
Holy Blade, the overtly AFI-inspired band from members of God’s Hate, Twitching Tongues, and Cosmic Joke, have followed their recent self-titled debut EP with new single “Beyond.”

JORDANA – “RAVER GIRL”
Before her new album Lively Premonition comes out on Friday, Jordana has unveiled one more advance single from it, “Raver Girl,” which she says is “a song about lust on the dancefloor. It’s about a chance encounter with a charismatic girl at a nightclub, where you say not a single word and you’re convinced you’ve fallen in love, only to have her disappear into the night…Was it only a dance, or was it something more? You didn’t even catch her name.”

HEAD AUTOMATICA – “ANNULMENT”
Glassjaw vocalist Daryl Palumbo recently revived Head Automatica for the project’s first song in 18 years, “Bear The Cross,” and now he’s shared a second new one. “Annulment” is a little poppier than the industrial-tinged “Bear The Cross,” and Daryl’s unmistakable voice is in great form.

PATRIARKH (fka BATUSHKA) – “WIERSZALIN III”
After Batushka confusingly spun off into two different bands both called Batushka, Bartłomiej “Варфоломей” Krysiuk’s version renamed themselves to Patriarkh, and their first album under the name is called ПРОРОК ИЛИЯ (PROROK ILJA) and comes out on January 3 via Napalm Records. Here’s new single “ВЕРШАЛИН III (WIERSZALIN III).”

PATRICK WATSON – “SILENCIO”
Canadian singer Patrick Watson is putting the finishing touches on a new album about how he lost his voice — for three months! His pipes are back in order as you can hear on the album’s first taste.

MEI SEMONES – “DANGOMUSHI”
Mei Semones, who released the Kabutomushi EP earlier this year, is back with this new single that mixes jazzy tropicalia and muscular indie rock.

LOTS OF HANDS – “GAME OF ZEROES”
UK duo lots of hands will into a pretty room, their first for Fire Talk Record, on January 12. Fans of Elliott Smith will want to check out lead single “game of zeroes.”

PANDA BEAR – “DEFENSE” FT. CINDY LEE
Panda Bear has announced a new album, Sinister Grift, which will be out February 28 via Domino. He made it at his Estudio Campo in Lisbon, Portugal and co-produced it with his Animal Collective bandmate Josh “Deakin” Dibb, with contributions from Spirit of the Beehive’s Rivka Ravede and, on this first single, Cindy Lee.

DROP NINETEENS – “DAYMOM”
Drop Nineteens, who released their first album since the ’90s last year, have unearthed a lost album they’ve titled 1991, which will be released February 7 via Wharf Cat. The album is made up of demos that were sent out to labels with hopes of getting signed. When they eventually signed to Caroline/Hut they decided to write all new material, which would make up their debut album, Delaware.

HEARTWORMS – “WARPLANE”
It’s the first single from Heartworms’ debut album that will be out February 7 via Speedy Wunderground.

CHELSEA WOLFE – “PLACE IN THE SUN” (UNBOUND)
Chelsea Wolfe has announced a stripped-back, acoustic EP and the first single is this somber piano version of “Place In the Sun.” Read more here.

WHISPERS – “RETRIBUTION”
Thailand’s self-described “Bangkok Evilcore” band Whispers have signed to the great US hardcore label Flatspot Records, and their new EP Yom-Ma-Lok drops in December. Check out lead single “Retribution” and read more here.
