So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
KALIII – KTOVEN
Atlanta rapper Kaliii flips a sample of Beethoven’s “Fur Elise” for a killer new single, aptly titled “KToven.” The song meshes Jersey club with trap and classical music, and follows her viral hit “Area Codes” and its many remixes.

STORMZY – “THE WEEKEND” FEAT. RAYE
Stormzy tapped singer/producer RAYE for collaborative track, “The Weekend,” his third single release in the last few weeks. RAYE and Stormzy previously worked together on “Ambition” in 2016. “The Weekend” is a fusion of summery R&B and British rap with a ’90s throwback vibe between melodic choruses and call-and-response vocals.

A$AP ROCKY – “RIOT (ROWDY PIPE’N)”
“RIOT (Rowdy Pipe’n)” is A$AP Rocky’s second single of the year as lead artist, and first since January’s “Same Problems?” “Riot” sees Rocky spitting over an instrumental he produced alongside Pharrell Williams, bursting with horns and buzzing bass drums.

BOMBAY BICYCLE CLUB – “DIVING” (ft. HOLLY HUMBERSTONE)
Here’s the second taste of Bombay Bicycle Club’s upcoming album My Big Day. Vocalist Jack Steadman says, “‘Diving’ is a song about that summer you have when you’re 15, the memory of which conjures up such a unique feeling. You’re discovering everything for the first time and the world seems as scary and exhilarating as diving off a tall cliff into a lake. Holly is the perfect fit for this song. Her music perfectly captures those feelings of early life, and her voice gives the whole song so much emotion.”

BLIND EQUATION – “YOU BETRAYED THE ONES YOU LOVED”
Chicago cybergrinders have shared another delightfully weird taste of their Prosthetic debut Death Awaits. “You Betrayed the Ones You Love” goes from bubblegum pop to abrasive extreme metal, and it works.

BASURAASTILLADA – “JARDÍN DE PLASTILINA”
Colombian emo/screamo band basuraastillada have shared new single “jardín de plastilina,” which is fueled by noodly math rock guitars and a very appealing mix of singing and screaming.

PEARLA – “GET IN TOUCH WITH YOU”
Following her February debut LP, Oh Glistening Onion, The Nighttime Is Coming, Pearla has shared a new single, the twangy folk track “Get In Touch With You.” “The song is about trying not to lose yourself in another person… the push and pull of wanting to be around someone and also trying to stay grounded in yourself,” she says. “I wanted it to feel fun and funny and lighthearted because to me that’s what it feels like when you strike that balance… being present with your own honest heart and the people you love at the same time.”

ÅRABROT – “YOU CAST LONG SHADOWS”
Årabrot will release new album Of Darkness and Light on October 13 via Pelagic, and new single “You Cast Long Shadows” is a very cool dose of loud, catchy, gothy rock.

BAS – “PASSPORT BROS” (ft. J. COLE)
Bas and frequent collaborator J. Cole cross paths once again on the breezy, tropical “Passport Bros.”

RICK HYDE – “STREETS AIN’T THE SAME” (ft. BENNY THE BUTCHER & ELCAMINO)
Rick Hyde’s new project Lupara arrives August 4 via Black Soprano Family, and new single “Streets Ain’t the Same” finds Rick, his label boss Benny the Butcher, and ElCamino trading bars over a vintage soul sample.

AS FRIENDS RUST – “FINAL FORM”
Florida punk vets As Friends Rust have shared another track off their first new album in over 20 years.

DEYARMOND EDISON – “EPOCH” & “SONG FOR A LOVER (OF LONG AGO)”
“Epoch” is the subtly dynamic title track off an upcoming box set by DeYarmond Edison, AKA Justin Vernon, Brad Cook, Phil Cook, and Joe Westerlund before they were in Bon Iver, Megafaun, and more. “Epoch” comes backed by “Song For A Lover (of Long Ago),” another acoustically-focused, dark-toned ballad. The Epoch box set is coming on August 18 via Jagjaguwar.

FLEETWOOD MAC – “DREAMS” (LIVE AT THE FABULOUS FORUM, INGLEWOOD, CA, 08/29/77)
Fleetwood Mac announced their newest release, Rumours Live, with eternal hit “Dreams,” recorded live at The Forum in Los Angeles. The album adapts recordings from three shows at the venue in August 1977, at the peak of their stardom, with sets drawing primarily from Fleetwood Mac and Rumours.

VAGABON – “DO YOUR WORST”
“I was nestled in the German countryside when Teo Halm, who co-produced this with me, and I were experimenting in my home studio late into the night, I was listening to a lot of club music and I set out to make an instrumental that drew from the music you’d hear at an underground club in Germany or the UK yet still lived in the Vagabon musical lexicon,” Vagabon’s Laetitia Tamko explains of her great new single. “A year later, when I returned to the U.S, I got Rostam involved and he had a great idea of adding a layer of live drums on top of the breakbeat from my Germany session.”

FRED ABONG (THROWING MUSES) – FEAR PAGEANT LP
Former Throwing Muses bassist Fred Abong has just released new solo album Fear Pageant. “This album started with the love of a new guitar I had recently purchased – a gold Gretsch Rancher Penguin,” says Fred. “As with all my guitars, I immediately adjusted it to baritone tuning and began writing. Pretty quickly, I had enough songs for a record. I knew these songs were going to get a fuller production treatment than previous efforts though. The main reason for this is that, like a good commie, I was finally in possession of the means of production, having been gifted a Mac Workbook, upon which to load my DAW of choice. With the aid of a keyboard MIDI controller, I could finally do everything myself, which has always been my dream. Fear Pageant is thus my first attempt at a truly DIY solo effort.”

FLAER – “FOREVER NEVER”
UK painter and musician Realf Heygate will release new album Preludes under the name Flaer on August 4 via Odda Recordings. It was made using only cello, piano and acoustic guitar and was inspired by 1970s folk horror films like The Wickerman.

EMMA ANDERSON (LUSH) – “BEND THE ROUND”
Former Lush guitarist/vocalist Emma Anderson has announced her debut solo album, Pearlies, which will be out October 20 via Sonic Cathedral. The album was written by Anderson and produced by Maps‘ James Chapman, with guitar contributions from Suede‘s Richard Oakes. Listen to the first single.

BAS JAN – “AT THE COUNTER”
London four-piece Bas Jan — which includes Jarvis Cocker collaborators Serafina Steer and Emma Smith — will release new album Back to the Swamp. “At the Counter” mixes elements of prog and new wave for an earthy, melodic, harmonius sound.

THE ANTLERS – “TIDE”
“Tide” is the third in a series of singles released by The Antlers this year. It’s ambient and gentle, with well-balanced synths, piano, and percussion. Read more about it here.
