20 New Songs Out Today

So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.

AB-SOUL – “ALL THAT” (ft. JASONMARTIN & THIRSTY P)

SOPHIE ELLIS-BEXTOR – “FREEDOM OF THE NIGHT”

Sophie Ellis-Bextor is back with her first new music since “Murder on the Dancefloor” had a worldwide resurgance due to Saltburn. Sophie says, “I have always been someone that needs music to help me recalibrate, and ‘Freedom of the Night’ is all about that feeling. Music as a form of release and a little bit of hedonism. I’ve always needed that energy in my life, and I know I’m not alone. As the song says, sometimes you need to give in to what you want.”

FKA TWIGS – “PERFECT STRANGER”

FKA twigs’ new album Eusexua comes out in January, and she’s given us another early taste with “Perfect Stranger,” which comes with a video directed by Jordan Hemingway and starring Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Yves Tumor.

GORDI & SOAK – “LUNCH AT DUNE”

Gordi and SOAK are releasing a collaborative EP, Lunch at Dune, due out on November 15 via Mushroom Music. They’ve shared the title track and first single, which Gordi says is “about feeling like there is something insurmountable in front of you and the only way through is perspective. In ‘Lunch at Dune,’ I’m trying to give that perspective to someone I love.” SOAK adds, “As a longtime fan of Gordi I was so hyped when she reached out to ask me to sing on this track. Something I’ve always found mesmerizing about her work is that each song feels like its own little universe. I think ‘Lunch at dune’ is a great example of this, a world of its own. I was less hype when Sophie asked me to jump in the freezing Irish sea at the start of winter for the video but I obliged and have since returned to my normal skin tone.”
