So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.

SWEET PILL – “GLOW”
“‘Glow’ is about living my life with my eyes closed,” Sweet Pill vocalist Zayna Youssef says of the new single off their anticipated new album. “Realizing I may be on the way to rock bottom, I kind of want to pretend it is not happening. We all know what this is called: D E N I A L. I perceive through this hazy lens that is constantly fogged by a glow. To me, a glow is a shape with no contour lines–a limitless being that sucks you in as you stare. I am in a daydream-like state refusing to snap out of it. This impaired judgement that I wear sugarcoats and distracts me from the reality in front of me. Yet, maybe I want to keep my eyes closed for a little longer…” Still There’s A Glow is out in March.

SEAHAVEN – “LONG GOODBYE”
West Coast emo vets Seahaven have shared a new song as they gear up for their 15th anniversary tour for Winter Forever.

A WILHELM SCREAM – “MIDNIGHT GHOST”
Massachusetts punk lifers A Wilhelm Scream have announced their sixth album, Cheap Heat, due February 27 via Creator-Destructor. Here’s the thrashy, melodic new single “Midnight Ghost.”

NEW MISERABLE EXPERIENCE (RIVERS OF NIHIL, ROSETTA, REVOCATION, ETC) – “ATARAXIA”
New Miserable Experience, the band featuring current and former members of Rivers of Nihil, Rosetta, Revocation, and Model Prisoner, have shared a new song from their upcoming album Gild the Lily, which arrives January 23 via Pelagic. These musicians may be best known for heavy music, but this song finds them in clean, proggy, dreamy rock territory.

THE ORIELLES – “YOU ARE EATING A PART OF YOURSELF” / “TO UNDO THE WORLD ITSELF”
The Orielles have shared two more songs from their upcoming album Only You Left. They write: “You are Eating a Part of Yourself’ began when a durational guitar loop was released from the archive of improv’s recorded in Henry’s bedroom. The title, which comes from a video artwork dating 1996, captures the darkness emanating from the original recording, and reflects the clarity to be able to define that feeling some years later. Through music (and some words) we unfurled the emotion captured back then, as we put our ears up to the organs of the body orchestrating their own symphony and dissonance. Closing track of the album ‘To Undo the World Itself’ sings of rebirth and reversal, or outstanding finality, depending on the impression that ‘Only You Left’ leaves you with. The cathartic crescendo meant that this was a favourite to play in the various live rooms that we wrote / recorded in, where it was trialled against the backdrops of thunderstorms and peaceful sunsets alike.” The video by Neelam Khan Vela connects both songs.

TOTAL FUCKING DARKNESS (STARS, YOUNG GALAXY) – “HORIZONTAL RAIN”
This Canadian supertrio of Torquil Campbell (Stars), Stephen Ramsay (Young Galaxy) and Tom McFall (U2/REM/Bloc Party) are back with another glum techno banger.

CATE LE BON FT. ST VINCENT – “ALWAYS THE SAME”
“‘Always The Same’ needed a little more elbow room than the album would allow but it is cousin to the song cycle of Michelangelo Dying, coming into formation in the same breath,” Cate Le Bon says of this collab with St. Vincent who she says “occupies the space around me with composure and gravitas whilst I kick around in the dirty waters of love.”

DANIEL AVERY – 4 TRACKS FROM TREMOR (MIDNIGHT VERSION)
Techno innovator Daniel Avery embraced his ’90s alt-rock youth on last year’s Tremor, which featured guest appearances from Alison Mosshart, Wolf Alice’s Ellie Rowsell, Walter Schreifels, and more. If you missed the thump of his other records, he’s now turned the dial on Tremor over into club territory, remixing the entire thing. Hear four songs featuring Alison Mosshart, Cecile Believe, Julia Dawson and Ellie.

VIAL announced a new album, Hellhound, and gave us a third taste with “Never Been Better,” which you can read more about here.

CRACK CLOUD – “SAFE ROOM”
Crack Cloud have announced new album Peace and Purpose which will be out March 13 via Meat Machine. While previous albums — like 2024’s Red Mile — have been made by the full Vancouver collective, this one seems to be made just by frontman/drummer Zach Choy. “Safe Room” is the first preview from it.

Lantlôs have announced a new album, Nowhere In Between Forever, and lead single “Daisies” finds the shoegazy black metal pioneers going in more of a Torche-style sludge-pop direction. Read more about it here.

BITTER BRANCHES (DEADGUY, LIFETIME, etc) – “CAVE DWELLERS” & “BASIC KARATE”
Philly post-hardcore supergroup Bitter Branches (members of Deadguy, Lifetime, and more) have announced a new J. Robbins-produced album, Let’s Give the Land Back to the Animals, due 3/6 via Equal Vision. Two songs are out now and you can read more about it all here.
