So many artists, so many songs, so little time. For Halloween, Sleaford Mods have released an alternate “dark” version of their video for “The Good Life” which features Game of Thrones actress Gwendoline Christie and Big Special.

MARIE DAVIDSON – “PUSH ME FUCKHEAD” & “SEXY CLOWN” (SOULWAX DUB MIXES)
Montreal artist Marie Davidson today has released an EP featuring Soulwax dub remixes for two songs from this year’s great City of Clowns, plus the original version of “Sexy Clown.”

COLTER WALL – “THE LONGER YOU HOLD ON”
Colter Wall’s new album Memories and Empties arrives on November 14 via La Honda/RCA, and the latest single is “The Longer You Hold On.” He says it’s “about waiting for the other shoe to drop. Just the old country theme of nearing the end of a fading love and knowing it.”

GHOSTFACE KILLAH – “ANCIENT DIRT”
Having just recently released Supreme Clientele 2, Ghostface Killah has now teamed up with Warp-signed Italian electronic musician Lorenzo Senni and soundtrack label CAM Sugar for a new album, Nightmare In Rome, due in 2026. After offering up nostalgia for his glory days with Supreme Clientele 2, “Ancient Dirt (L’etrusco uccide ancora)” finds him in much different territory.

KAITLIN BUTTS – “THE MIDDLE” (JIMMY EAT WORLD COVER)
Kaitlin Butts has released the country cover of Jimmy Eat World’s “The Middle” that you never knew you needed.

BOLDY JAMES & NICHOLAS CRAVEN – “INFRARED DOT COM”
Boldy James seems to be gunning to be crowned the most prolific rapper of 2025. He has another new album called Criminally Attached, made with frequent collaborator Nicholas Craven, coming November 14. They’re always a great pair and this song is no different.

GENESIS OWUSU – “DEATH CULT ZOMBIE”
The impossible-to-pigeonhole Genesis Owusu is back with an energetic new single, “Death Cult Zombie.”

PUSCIFER – “PENDULUM”
Puscifer’s first new album in over 5 years, Normal Isn’t, arrives in February (pre-order our exclusive pearl red vinyl variant), and they’ve given us another preview with the gothy “Pendulum.” “The dramatic and romantic nature of this track induces a sonic sense memory that transports me back to the dark and moody dance floor of Club Iguana, Austin, TX, circa 1985,” Maynard James Keenan says. “I can almost smell the clove cigarettes.”

PORTUGAL. THE MAN – “GOLDEN” (KPOP DEMON HUNTERS SOUNDTRACK)
“I’ve recently fallen deep into K-pop — big fan of TWICE and others,” Portugal. The Man’s John Gourley says. “But once ‘Golden’ found its way into my dreams, it was inescapable. I’ve sung this song a thousand times with our daughter and always loved the idea of breaking it down with an acoustic guitar and strings. It’s just such a beautiful arrangement.”

ALKALINE TRIO – “SURPRISE SURPRISE”
“‘Surprise Surprise’ was inspired by and written for a friend of mine who grew up poor and entrenched in gang life only to become a Navy SEAL and eventually an astronaut,” Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba says of the band’s new single. “It’s his story combined with my own thoughts regarding how a sort of alchemy takes place when someone takes the experiences of a bad situation and is able to turn them into something profound and beautiful. The rough sketch of the song had only verse and chorus parts but no bridge which was written by Dan in the studio. This song was the last one of the three we did in this session with Travis Barker and was even more of a collaboration and studio creation than the previous two.”

ADVANCE BASE – “MOVIE THEATER MANAGER” & “BLUE CHRISTMAS 2”
Ahead of a fall tour, Advance Base has shared two “long-lingering but newly-completed” songs, “Movie Theater Manager” and “Blue Christmas 2.” “These songs feel like distant companions, both inspired by real life movie theater & bank robberies, some recalled from my movie theater days & others from further back in American history,” he says. “I think of them as two parts of a loose trilogy with the Casiotone for the Painfully Alone song ‘Traveling Salesman’s Young Wife Home Alone on Christmas in Montpelier, VT.’ Feel free to draw your own conclusions.”

ORVILLE PECK – “DRIFT AWAY”
Orville Peck will release new EP Appaloosa on November 14 via Warner Music. “Drift Away” is not a cover of Dobie Gray’s ’70s hit but his own original power-ballad.

W.I.T.C.H. – “ONCE IN A LIFETIME” / ASTRØNNE – “PSYCHO KILLER” (TALKING HEADS COVERS)
The Talking Heads tribute, Naive Melodies, is out in January and here are two more tracks from it. W.I.T.C.H. give “Once In a Lifetime” a Zamrock rework while Astrønne turns “Psycho Killer” into an ethereal, glitchy ballad.

TROUBLE ANDREW – “THANKS FOR TRYING”
Musician, snowboarder and artist Trouble Andrew is back with this new ripper than dips a toe into goth territory, with a very moody bassline and the straddles the line between punk and synthpop. The video on his Instagram takes the song further into Halloween territory.

AIME SIMONE – “WEREWOLF” FEAT. PETER DOHERTY
Paris-born artist and producer Aime Simone released this collaboration with Libertines frontman Pete Doherty. “Now I’m a werewolf, don’t tell nobody / Am I a curse or someone you want to know,” Aime sings after Pete’s eerie spoken word intro.

NONAME – “HUNDRED ACRES”
Noname announced a new project, Cartoon Radio (release date TBA), and she put out new single “Hundred Acres.” Read more here.
