So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
GLITTERER – “THE SAME ORDINARY”
Title Fight offshot Glitterer have shared another taster of Rationale, and this one’s a 70-second dose of dreamy punk.

SAINTSENECA – “SOFT AXE”
Columbus, Ohio indie folk mainstay Saintseneca has released a few standalone singles lately, and the latest is the gorgeously somber “Soft Axe.”

SQUAREPUSHER – “WENDORLAN”
Electronic vet Squarepusher has announced a new album, Dostrotime, due March 1 via Warp, and he sounds as abrasive and chaotic as ever on lead single “Wendorlan.”

M.U.T.T. – “SF IS KILLING ME”
M.U.T.T. (whose lineup includes former Culture Abuse members John Jr., Matt Walker, Isa Anderson, and Shane Plitt) have a new EP called Dirty Deeds due February 23 via Quiet Panic. New single “SF Is Killing Me” is a hardcore-informed alt-rock song that, to echo No Echo, is cut from the same cloth as stuff like Drug Church and Militarie Gun.

JANE PENNY (TOPS) – “MESSAGES”
TOPS singer Jane Penny has announced her debut solo EP, Surfacing, which will be out April 5 via Luminelle. The first single from it is “Messages,” which doesn’t stray too far from TOPS’ sonic orbit. “It’s a pop song about getting notifications from everyone except the one person you want to hear from, which was happening to me at the time,” Jane says. “The opening sample – ‘there is a message for you’ is a strange message that the credit card machines in Montreal cabs make.”

DRAHLA – “DEFAULT PARODY”
UK band Drahla have announced their new album angeltape which will be out April 5. “Default Parody” is loaded with spiky guitars and lots of attitude.

TANLINES – “VANISHING POINT”
Ahead of some US shows this winter and spring, Tanlines have shared “Vanishing Point,” the a-side of their upcoming 7-inch single for Lone Limited Recordings. “A robust and energetic emotional banger inspired by the twists and turns of an unexpected love affair last season on Vanderpump Rules, which I had a strangely close personal view of ahead of its broadcast,” Eric Emm says.

MARBLED EYE – “SEE IT TOO”
Oakland post-punks Marbled Eye will release new album Read The Air on March 22 via Summer Shade and Digital Regress. “‘See It Too’ is about making your own path and finding connection in unexpected places,” says guitarist/singer Chris Natividad of the album’s first single.

MILDLIFE – “YOURSELF”
Australian prog-disco outfit Mildlife have shared another song from their upcoming album Chorus.
“‘Yourself’ is emotionally very positive, uplifting and bright; especially the chorus has this uplifting ascension in the chords,” says the band’s Kevin McDowell. “I remember sitting on that and feeling like we were all happy. I think we’d maybe matured to the point where these are the kind of brighter sounds that we probably should embrace just out of a sense of freshness, and even just for our own curiosity.”

ARAB STRAP – “BLISS”
“It’s about women being terrorized online; it’s about cowardice and bigotry,” says Arab Strap’s Aidan Moffat of the band’s new single. “It’s about how we expose ourselves on social platforms while hiding alone at home. But you can dance to it too!” New album I’m totally fine with it 👍 don’t give a fuck anymore 👍 is out in May.

RIP VAN WINKLE (ROBERT POLLARD) – “PROSE KAISER”
While we wait for Guided by Voices to announce their 40th album, Robert Pollard has launched another side project. No word on whether Rip Van Winkle is solo or a collaboration but “Prose Kaiser” is hooky as you’d expect from Pollard but with more of a post-punky attack.

ROSIE TUCKER – “ALL MY EXES LIVE IN VORTEXES”
Rosie Tucker announced their fourth album, and shared the second single, which you can read more about here.

SINKANE – “HOW SWEET IS YOUR LOVE”
Sinkane’s new album We Belong is out out April 5, and features Hollie Cook, Bilal, Money Mark and more. Check out the new single.

KLAUS JOHANN GROBE – “HIGHWAY HIGH”
‘io tu il loro’ is Swiss duo Klaus Johann Grobe’s first album in six years, and will be out March 22 via Trouble in Mind.

CORRIDOR – “MOURIR DEMAIN”
It’s the first single from Montreal band Corridor’s fourth album.

HEEMS – “ACCENT” (ft. SAUL WILLIAMS)
Heems, formerly of Das Racist and also of Swet Shop Boys with Riz Ahmed, has announced his first solo album in nine years, and you can read about the album and lead single “Accent” here.

SPACED – “LANDSLIDE”
Buffalo “far out hardcore” band Spaced have announced their debut full-length album, This Is All We Get, due 3/22 via Revelation Records. Read about the album and lead single “Landslide” here.

Seattle indie rock veteran Jen Wood of ’90s Kill Rock Stars band Tattle Tale and the standout duet vocalist on The Postal Service‘s “Nothing Better” has a new project called GEMZ and the first single is “Younger.” Read more here.
