So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
WET LEG – “CPR”
A highlight of Wet Leg’s recent Brooklyn show, “CPR” arrives in studio/video form today. It’s powered by a big rock riff and cheeky lyrics. New album moisturizer is out July 11.

BEN KWELLER – “OH DORIAN” (ft. MJ LENDERMAN)
Ben Kweller’s upcoming album Cover the Mirrors is his first album since his son Dorian died at age 16 in a freak car accident, and the album’s new single “Oh Dorian” is a heart-wrenching ode to him. It features contributions from MJ Lenderman, and follows the album’s previously-released collaborations with Waxahatchee, The Flaming Lips and Coconut Records.

KNEECAP – “THE RECAP” FT MOZEY
A lot has been going on with Irish rap group Kneecap that’s not focused on their music so it’s good they’ve shared this new single which references the backlash since Coachella and takes aim at Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch in particular. It’s in Irish but the song ends with (translated) “Good effort, Kemi / Hard lines in the elections / Onwards and upwards / Free Palestine.”

MAVI – “LANDGRAB” (ft. EARL SWEATSHIRT)
North Carolina rapper MAVI’s collaborations with Earl Sweatshirt (who contributed production to his 2019 project Let the Sun Talk and featured MAVI on his own 2020 song “El Toro Combo Meal”) helped lead to his breakthrough, and now they’ve finally teamed up again for a new MAVI single, “Landgrab.” They’re also both in the video together, and it’s a great song that hopefully means a new MAVI album is on the way.

TROPICAL FUCK STORM – “TEETH MARCHÉ”
“Two languages jammed together clutching at sense like the rest of the world,” says Tropical Fuck Storm’s Erica Dunn of the bands new single and video. “Marché: market, marché: walk, teeth: les dents, marcia marcia marcia: the Brady bunch. The Teeth Market, the Teeth Walk, our attempt at a laid back wonky jam which contemplates a vision of plunder that is played out in romance, in a climate emergency, in murderous political zeniths- those who take, take, take, lick their lips and want more.” New album Fairyland Codex is out June 20.

ALAN SPARHAWK (LOW) – “GET STILL”
Low’s Alan Sparhawk releases his collab album with Trampled by Turtles this week and here’s one last taste before the whole thing is out.

CIVIC – “THE FOOL”
Aussie bruisers CIVIC release Chrome Dipped, their first album for ATO, this week and here’s another preview. The band call “The Fool” a “nihilistic death march about dreamers and idiots. A jangley pagan punk song meant to provoke the senses. It recalls the story of the fool and what’s behind the 1000 yard stare.”

SEA LEMON – “CYNICAL”
Ahead of the release of her debut album Diving for a Prize this Friday, Sea Lemon shared a final advance single, “Cynical.” “A lot of this record feels like a step in a new but related sonic direction for me,” she says. “‘Cynical’ is the song that feels the most connected to some of my former music, like the song ‘Vaporized,’ and is about the feeling of being all the way in on a relationship while sensing someone is on their way out.”

PIG PEN (MATTY MATHESON, ALEXISONFIRE) – “RABID BEACH”
The Bear actor/producer, celebrity chef and YouTube personality Matty Matheson’s new hardcore band Pig Pen (with Alexisonfire’s Wade MacNeil, Daniel Romano, and others) have shared another ripper off their upcoming debut LP for Flatspot Records, Mental Madness.

LUCRECIA DALT – “DIVINA”
Lucrecia Dalt announced a new album, A Danger to Ourselves, due out on September 5 via RVNG Intl, and shared a new single, the hynpotic “divina.”

SIGNALS MIDWEST – “TWO MAGNETS”
Signals Midwest have announced an album of unreleased songs, B-sides, and rarities called Layovers. It’s due July 25, and opening track “Two Magnets” is here now.

JAHNAH CAMILLE – “SUMMER’S SCORCH”
“I wrote it about a crush that I never even talked to,” Jahnah Camille says of the latest single from her new EP My sunny oath!. “I was just like, ‘Would I be able to keep myself? Can I be trusted with a romantic relationship?’”

BLIND EQUATION – “NOTHING”
Cybergrinders Blind Equation have announced a new album, A Funeral In Purgatory, due out July 18 via Prosthetic, and main member James McHenry says this new single is “heavily nu-metal inspired & overall pays homage to the early works of artists like The Prodigy, Fear Factory, Korn, Slipknot & etc.”

MIZMOR – “MNEOMINIC – III”
Mizmor has announced Mnemonic: Ambient Mosaic, an album of “ten of A.L.N.’s earliest recordings, transformed into nostalgic drone-scapes.” It arrives on June 27, and here’s the first taste.

HOT JOY – “QUALITY CONTROL”
Tiny Engines have signed St. Louis band Hot Joy, whose new Jay Som-recorded single “Quality Control” is a ’90s-style shoegazy indie rock anthem.

TOTAL FUCKING DARKNESS (MEMS STARS / YOUNG GALAXY) – “GOOD TIMES”
“Is hell a party?,” asks Total Fucking Darkness, aka Torquil Campbell (Stars) and Stephen Ramsay (Young Galaxy). ” Well, we know parties are hell, so…our new single was written in several places: a bucolic country home, a 6th floor walk up in Montreal’s least quaint quartier, and in South London, where the dogs run free and the beats wake all the babies up. It’s got a chorus your drunken aunt will like. Play it loud, or don’t play it. Hell may be a party, but what else are you going to do, just stay home and watch the internet? Didn’t think so. You’re better than that.

FOXWARREN – “DEADHEAD”
“To all the deadheads, we say ‘don’t stop dancing’.” That’s Foxwarren’s advice when presenting their new single “Deadhead.” The band, led by Andy Shauf, release their second album this week.

BONEFLOWER – “POMEGRANATE” (ft. JEREMY BOLM)
Madrid screamo/post-hardcore band Boneflower have signed to Deathwish for their new album Reveries, and lead single “Pomegranate” features guest vocals from Touché Amoré’s Jeremy Bolm. Read more about it here.
