So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.

Richmond rapper Fly Anakin has shared a new track with a fidgety, jazzy beat from Quelle Chris.

FANTASY OF A BROKEN HEART & JORDANA – “FOUND YOU AGAIN”
fantasy of a broken heart have followed their great new album Feats of Engineering with a new collaboration with Jordana. “‘Found You Again’ is a sincere stab at an upbeat song of the summer, fantasy style,” Bailey Wollowitz says. “And in true fantasy style, it has inevitably found its way into the world a little bit late, in the gloomy month of November. We met Jordana through mutual friends while finishing the sessions for Feats of Engineering and were immediately struck by her stellar songwriting instinct, as well as her incredible dance moves (witnessed backstage at a Palm gig.) Right before she flew away to Los Angeles, we got in the studio to record some last minute vocal overdubs for the record, a true cherry on top right before our mix deadline. We knew that a full collaboration needed to happen asap. And thus ;Found You Again; was born, a sweet little number about encountering an old lover and reflecting together on what made it so sweet in the first place. Jordana, Al, and Bailey all take turns leading the tale; the tune also features first time recorded contributions from recurring fantasy live band members Margaux (on bgvs) and Kolb (on bass guitar and tin foil crumpling).”

CORNELIA MURR – “MEANTIME”
Singer-songwriter Cornelia Murr will release new album Run to the Center on February 28 via 22TWENTY. The album was produced by Luke Temple and this is the appealing, slinky first single.

THANK YOU THANK YOU – “AFTER YOU GAVE ME THIS” & “THERE’S NO TELLING”
Thank You Thank You, the project of former TWIABP/Strange Ranger member Tyler Bussey, has released two new instrumental songs. One is “After You Gave Me This,” a 10-minute epic featuring violin, cello, pedal steel, harmonium, synths, and more, and the other is the more minimal “There’s No Telling.”

NADIA REID – “HOTEL SANTA CRUZ”
“I wrote this in Tenerife and it turned out to be quite hooky,” Nadia Reid says of “Hotel Santa Cruz,” the latest single from her new album Enter Now Brightness. “It’s just a series of questions. I feel quite moved at the end, with the line ‘You are everything I’d like to be’. I always give myself goosebumps when I perform that line. But I’m not sure who I’m referring to.”

SUN JUNE – “41 DOLLARS” & “16 RIDERS” (DEMO)
Sun June are gearing up for a short tour with Dan Wriggins of Friendship (that hits Brooklyn’s Baby’s All Right on 11/22) and they’ve just shared a dreamy indie folk song called “41 Dollars,” along with a demo of “16 Riders” from 2023’s Bad Dream Jaguar.

BLEACHERS – “MERRY CHRISTMAS, PLEASE DON’T CALL”
Bleachers have been performing “Merry Christmas, Please Don’t Call” during Jack Antonoff’s annual Ally Coalition Talent Show over the past few Decembers, and now they’ve shared the studio version.

COLIN SELF – “RESPITE FOR THE TULPAMANCER”
Art pop musician Colin Self has announced a new album, respite ∞ levity for the nameless ghost in crisis (or r∞L4nGc), due February 21 via RVNG Intl, and the first single is “respite for the tulpamance,” a song that starts out gentle and glistening before building to a soaring climax.

SONGHOY BLUES – “GARA”
Songhoy Blues’ fourth album Héritage comes out in January, and they’ve given us another preview of it with “Gara.” “Gara means ‘blessing’ in the Songhoy language,” they say. “This song is an ode to the guidance and blessings of the elders in society – particularly one’s parents. There is an African adage, which says ‘A ripe fruit never rots at the top’ and so in this song we encourage younger generations to do good and seek blessing from their elders.”

SASAMI – “JUST BE FRIENDS”
“‘Just Be Friends’ feels like a really grown up continuation of themes/moods from my first two albums,” says SASAMI of the latest single from upcoming album Blood on the Silver Screen. “I returned to some of the stream of consciousness, emotional lyrical writing style of my first album and kept riding the country wave that was in the fabric of Squeeze but with a bit more modern country influence. I love how country songs often tell a story. Longing, lingering, loneliness and lust. When I play this one live I always dedicate it to anyone ‘sad and horny’ in the crowd… if that means anything.”

ROSE CITY BAND – “SEEDS OF LIGHT”

A CERTAIN RATIO – “NOW AND LAUGHTER”
Manchester post-punk legends are releasing a Christmas EP, Christmasville UK, on December 11 and here’s the first single.

TVOD – “CAR WRECK”
Brooklyn post-punk band TVOD are back with this new single that’s out now via new label home Mothland. It was co-produced by La Sécurité’s Félix Bélisle and here’s what the band say: “We were looking for somewhere to record and nothing was really speaking to us, until we heard La Sécurité’s debut, which they produced at Gamma Recording Studio in Montréal. We recorded over a couple trips from Brooklyn to Montréal, and slept on the floor at Mothland’s office and at the apartment of Turbo Haüs.”

LOTS OF HANDS – “BACKSEAT 30”
UK duo lots of hands will release new album into a pretty room on January 17 and here’s another song from it.

MARY IN THE JUNKYARD – “THIS IS MY CALIFORNIA”
It’s the first single from the forthcoming EP from London trio Mary in the Junkyard. Nice stuff.

BENEFITS – “RELENTLESS” FT PETE DOHERTY
UK duo Benefits are still angry on their second album but are taking it out in less noisy ways as you can here on this new single featuring The Libertines’ Pete Doherty.

CALLA – “PICK YOUR BATTLES”
Late-’90s/early-’00s NYC band CALLA are back and have released their first new music in 17 years. “Pick Your Battles” opens with a big guitar/keyboard hook that might have you thinking CALLA have gone pop, in an indie rock kind of way, but then the band’s signature unsettling, off-kilter undercurrent rears its head in the verse.

BITE THE HAND – “STAY MAD”
If you like when aggressive hardcore and and catchy alt-rock choruses come together, you might wanna check out Arizona punks Bite The Hand. They recently released their debut EP Conned Out of Life on Wiretap Records, and today they’ve put out a video for its song “Stay Mad.” Read more here.
