So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
STEVE LACY FT SZA – “IS IT COOL?”
SZA let it slip earlier this year that she and Steve Lacy had been working on something together and this is it. Steve’s new album Oh Yeah? is out July 17.

CARLY RAE JEPSEN – “ON WIRES”
It’s the first single from Carly Rae Jepsen’s upcoming double album, Day and Night.

FUTURE – “RADIO”
Future has officially announced that his new album The Real Me comes out July 10 via Freebandz/Epic, and he previews it with the atmospheric trap of “Radio.”

PUP – “IF THIS IS IT” & “CONCRETE” MUSIC VIDEO
PUP are back with two new treats: “If This is It” which was recorded during the Who Will Look After the Dogs? sessions, and a video for “Concrete” which used analogue stop-motion animation featuring 2,300 frames of animation by artists, with every frame a different page from a magazine.

COBRAH AND GRIMES – “SIGN FROM GOD”
Swedish art-pop musician Cobrah has shared this new single featuring Grimes that you may have heard during her Coachella set this year.

PEGGY GOU – “WO, MAN” (FEAT. AYRA STARR)
“When I was working on ‘Wo,man’, I knew I wanted a voice that could match the song’s uplifting energy for summer. The moment I shared it with Ayra, she got it instantly,” Peggy Gou says of her new single featuring Ayra Starr. “Bringing our two worlds together felt completely natural, and she brought the perfect balance of sexiness and swag into the record. I hope this record brings fun summer memories to all who love it.”

JOHN CARPENTER – “THE FERRYMAN”
Here’s a second single from John Carpenter’s upcoming metal-leaning album/comic, Cathedral. Collaborator Daniel Davies says, “It has interesting harmonies that Cody put together and John’s signature pad-style string parts. It’s more of an electronic metal track in a way, but we just wanted to make it as heavy and driving as possible.”

LA ROUX – “BABYLINE”
La Roux will release new album Old Flames on November 6 and here’s the new single. She says, “‘Babyline’ is about finding your way out of the woods and back to yourself. ‘Cabin Fever’ was very much the start of my story, and ‘Babyline’ is where I ended up and where I continue to be. Happier, lighter, braver.”

KAITLYN AURELIA SMITH – “GTP!
“’GTP!’ lives in high-stakes anticipation — the feeling that something is always about be decoded and figured out – just in time,” says Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith of her new single. “This song has a lot of hidden messages & meaning. PETE YORN – “IDYLLWILD”
Pete Yorn has been busy celebrating the 25th anniversary of his breakthrough musicforthemorningafter but he’s also go a new album, All the Beauty, that will be out July 24. Here’s the new single which he says is about a perfect day with his daughter.

BOY HARSHER – “JEANS”
Boy Harsher (Jae Matthews and Augustus Muller) have just released their first new music in four years. It’s a single titled “Jeans” and the duo are leaning into the ’80s more than ever, in that bright shiny way depicted in the era’s teen films. You can almost smell the mall Orange Julius with this one and that’s meant in the best possible way.

DOVETAIL – “IF YOU LET ME (NSII)”
Hudson Valley duo Dovetail (Brynne Mershon and Naomi Sullins) have just released their ethereal second single. Brynne says: “After forming Dovetail, we brought in some of our solo material to reconsider and rework for our duo format, which is when the song took the form it’s in now. We’re still drawing from a lot of the same influences as ‘raining here, too’ — 90’s-era dream pop and shoegaze (Slowdive, Mazzy Star) and 2000s lo-fi singer-songwriter projects like the Microphones — but are expanding our sonic palette with some grunge and psych influences on this track.”

THE DARLING BUDS – “LOST TIME”
Welsh indie band The Darling Buds, who had late-’80s hits with “Burst” and “Hit the Ground,” will release new album Same Sun | Same Sky on July 31 which will be their first new album since 1992. Singer Andrea Lewis says, “We’re delighted to be releasing our new album, Same Sun / Same Sky and can’t wait for everyone to hear it. I loved being back in the studio again after such a long time, and doing it for the right reasons too! We’re also very excited for playing these new songs live, and look forward to catching up with you all soon.”

This is the second single from Empress Of’s upcoming album Dream House.

CHARLI XCX – “WINK WINK”
Charli XCX’s new single is very cheeky indeed.

BRANDON FLOWERS – “PLANS”
Everybody’s been going country lately and one of the latest people to do so is The Killers’ Brandon Flowers, whose first solo album in over a decade THRASHER is a self-proclaimed “country western” album.

It’s the first single from Django Django’s upcoming album, Doveland.

PHOEBE BRIDGERS – “LOST WEEKEND”
Here it is, finally, the first single from Phoebe Bridgers’ first album in six years. Both Phoebe’s boygenius bandmates Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker appear on it.
