So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.

Westside Gunn surprise-dropped this EP today but also has a full-length project, Still Praying, coming at midnight.

SKYZOO – “THE WORKLOAD” FT METHOD MAN
Boom bap devotee Skyzoo drops a new one-off single featuring one of the genre’s OGs, Method Man.

THE WEEKND – “SÃO PAULO” FT ANITTA
The Weeknd just dropped this new single featuring Brazilian superstar Anitta. The video, directed by FREEKA, is indeed pretty freaky, and appropriate viewing on Halloween.

LOLA YOUNG – “CHARLIE” FT LIL YACHTY
Lola Young appears on the new Tyler, the Creator album, Lil Yachty is opening Tyler’s 2025 arena tour, and today they’ve released a song together.

SEA LEMON – “SWEET ANECDOTE”
‘Sweet Anecdote,’ of all of my songs up until this point, was the shortest song to come from nothing to finished,” says Natalie Lew of her new single as Sea Lemon. “I worked on it in my producer Andy’s studio, first with the underlying guitar and then with synths, quickly building the architecture of the song in an hour or so. Immediately after identifying the sort of eerie melodic structure of the song, I felt really compelled to write lyrics about being in love to the point of obsession. The internet as a whole contributes to my feeling that I know too much about people, and I wanted to lean into the darker and more sinister sides of that with this song, as the narrator firmly believes the person they are watching is ‘the one.’ I love art (movies, music, books) that is unsettling—not overwhelmingly scary or horrifying—and Sweet Anecdote is meant to be an unsettling song in both melody and lyrics

BARTEES STRANGE – “TOO MUCH”
Bartees Strange’s new album Horror comes out on Valentines Day, and he’s given us another early taste with “Too Much.” “This is the sonic thesis of the album,” he says. “I feel like if you like this you’ll love everything else. This record is about things that scare me. And this song is about that feeling of being overwhelmed by life. This song is about those feelings. Too much to hold, Heaven to touch.”

MARIA USBECK – “HOLLOW”
It’s been a while — five years — since we’ve heard from onetime Selebrities singer Maria Usbek and here she is with this new single that owes more than a little to angular new wave. More, please.

WISP – “I REMEMBER HOW YOUR HANDS FELT ON MINE”
Viral shoegaze phenom Wisp has followed her April EP Pandora with another new single, “i remember how your hands felt on mine.” It’s “about reminiscing on past relationships/experiences and debating whether or not you should let go and move on,” she says. “It represents the feeling of holding onto things, in fear that if you let go those feelings will never exist again.”

PRISON – “EYES FOR KEYS”
NYC rock collective Prison, which includes Endless Boogie’s Paul Major as well as Sarim Al-Rawi and Matt Lilly, have announced new album Downstate which will be out January 31 via Drag City. “Eyes for Keyes” is the album’s howling first single.

DANA GAVANSKI – “BUSINESS OF THE ATTITUDE”
Dana Gavanski released a new album, LATE SLAP, in April, and she’s been keeping busy since, returning to her studio and writing songs on piano. “I decided to brush up on my piano skills and since then I’ve been obsessed,” she says. “I feel like a big child on the piano. I love how my hands move up and down, like swooping eagles each time they hit a chord.” She says “Business of the Attitude” is “partly about the futility of trying to solve things, or make them go away.”

PINKSHIFT – “ONE NATION”
With the election around the corner, Baltimore punks Pinkshift have released a new political protest song, “ONE NATION,” along with a lyric video. Read about it here.

SUPERCHUNK – “FIRE IN THE WESTERN WORLD” (DEAD MOON COVER) / QUIVERS – “PASS THE HATCHET, I THINK I’M GOODKIND”
Superchunk and Quivers were on tour together this summer and these two covers made up both sides of a split 7″ that is now on streaming services.

ORA THE MOLECULE – “LØVESKATT”
Ora the Molecule, aka Oslo art-pop musician Nora Schjelderup, has announced her second album, Dance Therapy, which will be out March 21 via Mute. “I feel like this is my debut,” she says. “It’s more me.”
