So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.

Having released a partial version of the song last year, Denzel Curry has shared the full “Blood On My Nikez,” and this one features Juicy J.

DJ KOZE – “CANDIDASA”
While he’s got an album with Roisin Murphy out in September, DJ Koze first has his own thing, a new EP, out this week. You may have already heard his Sophia Kennedy collab, “Wespennest,” and here’s the EP’s other epic banger, “Candidasa.”

SOCCER MOMMY – “SOAK UP THE SUN” (SHERYL CROW COVER)
Sheryl Crow fan Soccer Mommy has shared a new shoegaze-inflected take on her 2002 hit “Soak Up the Sun.” “She has so many songs that are these massive hits that, at least for someone my age, you can’t have grown up and not heard those songs,” Sophie told New York Times. “She has a knack for saying something hard, but making it feel like she’s ready to acknowledge it and be cool with this hard acceptance.”

THE PRETENDERS – “A LOVE”
“I suppose ‘A Love’ is the most traditionally Pretenders-sounding song on the album,” says Chrissie Hynde of her band’s new single, “in the vein of ‘Kid’ or ‘Talk of the Town’ or any of the mid-tempo ones over the years. I often see love /relationships almost in the same vein as drug addiction. Although, having said that, I know I am jaded and cynical…” The Pretenders’ new album Relentless is out September 1.

VAGABON – “IF I LOVED YOU”
Vagabon’s anticipated new album Sorry I Haven’t Called is out in September, but her newest single is a rendition of Carousel ballad “If I Loved You” from the soundtrack to new film Red, White & Royal Blue. “I wanted to preserve the melodic information that makes this song from the 1945 Rodgers & Hammerstein musical “Carousel” so special, while reimagining the instrumentation and arrangement,” Vagabon says.

RAIA WAS – “THE FRAGILE PART”
“‘The Fragile Part’ is about chaotic forces that marked me from a young age, that both make me who I am and doom me; patterns I’ve adopted and repeat back on myself like I’ll hurt me before you hurt me,” Raia Was says of her new single, which starts as a hushed ballad and grows into something more cathartic. “I wanted the vocals to feel crowded here and dispersed in a way where you can’t quite tell who is leading – like you’ve lost yourself and your inner compass and it’s the external voices that have replaced your own. The moment of transition in the song – where the pulse comes in and the instrumentation fills out – feels like opening the door on a crowd or entering a party except here the party invites itself in on you, crowding your thoughts, creating chaos while you’re trying to hold steady and remember yourself.”

NISA – “SEA GLASS”
“I wrote ‘Sea Glass’ about the contradiction of holding cherished memories with a person against a fractured relationship with them,” Brooklyn-based artist Nisa says of her new alt-pop single. “It’s about the distortion of a past moment that allows for a sense of comfort, above all.”

SHAMIR – “THE BEGINNING”
“‘The Beginning’ is a song I wrote when I was 14 years old and had never experienced love, yet I was already inundated by all the typical tropes,” Shamir says of his new single. “Even back then I realized a happy ending was contingent on a healthy beginning. The video represents the healing power of being around friends after a break up.” It’s from his new album Homo Anxietatem.

TEI SHI – “MONA LISA (SPANGLISH)”
“When I was writing ‘Mona Lisa’ for my EP BAD PREMONITION, I had the lyrics already written in English, but there were certain lines that kept coming to me in Spanish,” Tei Shi says. “I knew I wanted to integrate them somehow down the road, and I kind of just kept building off of these initial Spanish lyrics in my head until I had a concept for a mixed Spanglish version. I always felt like there were certain lines in the song that felt really strong in Spanish, and that was kind of the starting point.”
