16 New Songs Out Today

So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.

ROSALI – “OTHER SIDE”

Ahead of her tour with Superchunk, Rosali has shared an upbeat new single, “Other Side.”

TOUCH GIRL APPLE BLOSSOM – “I’M LUCKY I FOUND YOU”

Austin band Touch Girl Apple Blossom release their new album Graceful on May 15 via K, and they’ve given us another preview with the lush “I’m Lucky I Found You.”

ONEOHTRIX POINT NEVER – “DIM STARS” / “FOR RESIDUE (EXTENDED)”

Oneohtrix Point Never is back with his first new music since the one-two punch of Tranquilizer and the Marty Supreme score last year. “Dim Stars” and “For Residue (Extended)” come just ahead of the start of 0PN’s 2026 tour.

COLA – “SKYWRITER’S SIGH”

Cola’s Ben Cartwright says “Skywriter’s Sigh” is “a deepening of what we’ve been doing.” It’s the third single from their upcoming album C.O.L.A. is out May 8.

EKKO ASTRAL – “LIL XAN GOES TO WASHINGTON (LIVE)”

We’re still waiting to hear when Ekko Astral will release their second album, The Beltway is Burning, which is on hold after they were dropped by Topshelf Records, and in the mean time, they’ve announced a new live album, fuck this band: live at the chapel, due out April 22. From it they’ve shared a live version of “Lil Xan Goes to Washington,” the first single off The Beltway is Burning.

WILL SHEFF – “FUNNY FEELING”

Okkervil River frontman Will Sheff will release his new album Extra Mile soon and he’s just shared “Funny Feeling” from it which comes with a very very cool stop-motion-animated video.

BIG SPECIAL – “ONLY FREE WHEN SLEEPING”

UK duo BIG SPECIAL will release 10-track EP O’Joy! on June 5 via So Recordings. The band say: of this single: “This is a head-down walking song. When all that shows up in observation is negative, when all news is bad news and you just look at your feet and curse the cruelty and the faff of the modern day and all the days before that lead to this feeling.”

SPACEMOTH – “DO WE EXIST?”

West Coast psych artist Spacemoth — aka musician and producer Maryam Qudus — will release new album Inward Eye on June 26. They are staring into space with the Big Questions, like “Do We Exist?”

THE GNOMES – “MAGIC MAN”

Australian garage rockers The Gnomes will release new EP MORE on May 13. “Magic Man is about this old man who lives next door to me who I’ve always known as The Wizard because I never knew his real name,” says lead singer Jay Millar about the EP’s new single. “However in the music video, the Magic Man is played by our friend Stu Anderson, who owns Singing Bird Studios in Frankston where we recorded the EP. He’s a legend of the local scene. We dragged him out to The You Yangs mountain ranges to shoot the clip, and he was coming off of a massive bender at the time. It was the perfect vibe, he smashed it.”

THIN ICE – “HAPPINESS AIN’T MEANT FOR ALL”

German hardcore band Thin Ice release their new EP, Happiness Ain’t Meant For All, on May 8 via Subculture For Life/DITS, and they’ve shared the title track. “‘Happiness Ain’t Meant For All’ is about hoping for something and the pain when it doesn’t work out,” vocalist Simon Hereth says. “It’s about reaching for love, joy, or fulfillment and feeling the disappointment when it slips away — I think a feeling anyone can relate to, whether it’s about love, loss, or just wanting something more.”

LAURA MISCH – “SHELL”

Laura Misch’s second album, Lithic, is out in June, and new single “Shell” is beautiful and sparse, focusing on cello and voice.

IN 2 AGAIN – “OUR DISEASE IS DRESSED TO THE NINES” (FT. FLESHWATER’S ANTHONY DIDIO)

CT post-hardcore band In 2 Again will release a new EP, Coins, Currency, Tokkens, and Other Related Objects, on May 8 via Daze. The new single, “Our Disease Is Dressed to the Nines,” features Anthony DiDio of Fleshwater and Vein.fm. “If the EP had a title track, this would have been it,” guitarist Kyle Hill says. “The song is about making fun of humans contentment with being generally awful to each other and our planet – a critique on our path to destruction.”

DUENDITA – “BEACH”

duendita’s new album existential thottie arrives later this month, and she’s shared a second single, “beach.” “At first,” she says, “I was nervous to share this project. The songs are so personal, like a diary. Then I realized this is the first project I produced completely ‘head 2 toe,’ so no wonder… these songs started with me, sometimes just me and my Digitakt, alone, late nights and early mornings, pure expression. Maybe this project is for me, more than for anyone else.”

EVIL ISLAND – “TIGER BABY”

Evil Island, the new band from Johnny Whitney, Cody Votolato and Mark Gajadhar of The Blood Brothers and Autry Fulbright II, formerly of OFF! and …And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead, shared their debut single, and you can read more about it here.

BEDOUINE – “ALWAYS ON TIME”
