So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
ALOVESOPURE – “UNTIL IT’S MY REALITY” & “CASTLE IN SPAIN”
Tobby Davilmar of hardcore bands Collateral and Be All End All has a drum & bass project called alovesopure with a new album called You’ll Be A Memory coming May 3 via Sunday Drive Records. Tobby cites Björk, Aphex Twin and Goldie as core influences. Two tracks are out now.

NISA – “DANCE ALONE”
“Nothing feels more freeing to me than dancing, and watching someone you love find themselves in movement,” Nisa says of the final single off her new album Shapeshifting. It’s out this Friday.

MANDY – “NOW THAT I’M A WOMAN” (JIMMY WEBB COVER)
The latest single from Melkbelly singer/guitarist Miranda Winters’ upcoming solo album as Mandy is a cover of the Jimmy Webb-penned, America-performred “Now That I’m A Woman” from the 1982 soundtrack for The Last Unicorn. Check out Mandy’s indie-folky version and compare it to the original.

SEGA BODEGA – “TRUE”
Sega Bodega’s new album Dennis is out this Friday, and he’s given us a final early taste ahead of its release, which has vocals from Kirin J Callinan and a choir of angels.

GIRL AND GIRL – “OH BOY!” & “MOTHER”
Aussie band Girl and Girl have shared two more songs from their upcoming Sub Pop debut, Call a Doctor. “I’d had Oh Boy! half written for a few years before we got round to recording it,” says frontperson Kai James. “I really loved the first half and had kind of psyched myself out of finishing it. When it was finally demoed early last year, this big sort of chaotic, sprawling word vomit poured out of me that seemed to tie the whole thing up nicely, it’s brimming with joy and misery and sarcasm, all things girl and girl.” Call a Doctor is out May 24.

QUEEN OF JEANS – “ALL MY FRIENDS”
Queen of Jeans have shared the opening track off their new album All Again, the shimmering “All My Friends,” which was written by vocalist Miri Devora when guitarist Mattie Glass was away on tour.

DIIV – “FROG IN BOILING WATER”
DIIV’s new album Frog in Boiling Water is out in May and they’ve just shared its title track on their newly launched FOBW.org website. The band say, “The title track of DIIV’s new album Frog in Boiling Water is a snapshot from a world collapsing under its own weight. A cascade of atrocities wash over a population seemingly too stunned and powerless to act. Wealth is extracted and people suffer. The only obvious solution is…” You’ll have to visit the site for the rest.

JAHNAH CAMILLA – “FLESH”
Birmingham, Albama singer-songwriter Jahnah Camille has signed to Winspear and announced her debut EP, i tried to freeze light, but only remember a girl, due out on June 21 via her new label home. About the first single, she says “‘flesh’ is heavily inspired by the movie About Time and what it means to me. The movie is about a young guy who finds out the men in his family’s ability to time travel. He ultimately uses this ability to be mindful and live each day intentionally. The song is about my own relationship with intention.”

BULLION – “WORLD_TRAIN” (FEAT. CHARLOTTE ADIGÉRY)
London producer Bullion releases new album Affection this week via Ghostly and to whet your whistle before the whole thing is out, here’s his collab with Charlotte Adigéry. “I’ve always been an admirer of Bullion’s work,” Charlotte says. “Nothing sounds like it! It’s refreshing, uncompromising and soothing at the same time.”

FAT DOG – “RUNNING”
South London band Fat Dog release their debut album on September 6 via Domino, and here’s the new single from it.

THOM YORKE – “PRIZE GIVING” & “KNIFE’S EDGE”
Thom Yorke has composed the score to Confidenza, Daniele Luchetti’s feature film adaptation of Domenico Starnone’s novel of the same name. For it, Yorke once again collaborated with producer Sam Petts-Davies — who worked on The Smile’s Wall of Eyes — and the London Contemporary Orchestra, as well as a jazz ensemble which included Robert Stillman and fellow The Smile bandmate Tom Skinner. It’s out Friday but you can check out two tracks now.

THE WOODENTOPS – ‘FRUITS OF THE DEEP’ LP
London band The Woodentops, who celebrated their 40th anniversary last year, have just released Fruits of the Deep which is their first album since 2014’s Granular Tales (which was their first album 26 years). Self-released, the album is a little more varied than Granular Tales, mixing the classic Woodentops’ sound — acoustic guitars, clattering rhythms, big choruses, breakneck tempos — with some of their other diversions over the years including dance music, dub reggae and sound experiments.

G.B.I. (DAVE GROHL, ANTHRAX) – “THE REGULATOR” (BAD BRAINS COVER)
On Record Store Day, Dave Grohl teamed up with Anthrax members Scott Ian and Charlie Benante to release a cover of the Bad Brains classic “The Regulator” on a 7″ under the name G.B.I. (a G.B.H. reference that stands for Grohl, Benante, and Ian). They’ve also made a music video for the cover, and you can read more about it here.

THURSTON MOORE – “REWILDING”
Thurston Moore released a new single in honor of Earth Day and gave an update on his upcoming album Samurai Walkman: Flow Critical Lucidity. Read more here.
