So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
POISON RUIN – “GUTS (LAY YOUR SELF ASIDE)”
Philly deathrock revivalists Poison Ruin release new album Hymns from the Hills next week (4/4) and here’s one last bitter taste before the whole thing is unleashed.

RARE DM – “COMPLIMENT”
Art-pop artist Eric Hoagg has announced a new album as Rare DM, Attention, due out May 29. About new single “Compliment,” she says, “‘Compliment’ started with writing lyrics with my Juno 60, using twisting bouncy arpeggiators and chopping up my original vocals into rhythmic stabs. It is inspired by when you are in a relationship, and someone who you had eyes for (before meeting your s/o) suddenly pays attention to you. I was sent a suggestive message from someone, and wasn’t single anymore. As the lyrics share: ‘don’t you worry about it for a second, I can take a compliment’ because hey, I don’t want them to feel embarrassed or bad, they didn’t know that I met someone! This all being said… I can’t control if they are thinking of me. ‘You can’t have it… but you can imagine it.'”

CAVS (KING GIZZARD OFFSHOOT) – “FIRST LIGHT”
King Gizzard drummer Michael ‘CAVS’ Cavanagh has shared another song from his second solo album, Sojurn. New single “First Light” is groovy and loaded with flutes — what more do you need?

FROZEN SOUL – “INVOKE WAR” (FT. MACHINE HEAD’S ROBB FLYNN)
“Invoke War,” the latest single off Frozen Soul’s new album No Place of Warmth, features Robb Flynn of Machine Head. Vocalist Chad Green says it’s “about the internal battle we all have to fight when navigating loss, grief, guilt, and depression. It’s about getting back up. It’s meant to be the anthem to your day, the background music to your story, the extra weapon you might need to help conquer whatever you’re struggling with. Robb’s lyrics add a whole new layer of power and emotion to the song. This is a follow up to ‘Arsenal of War,’ which was about remembering and carrying the light and memories of your lost loved one with you.”

PYE CORNER AUDIO FT. RIDE’S ANDY BELL – “CYCLE”
Pye Corner Audio, aka UK synth stylist Martin Jenkins, has announced More Songs About The Sun which will be out June 19 via Sonic Cathedral. The album features four songs co-written by Andy Bell of Ride and Oasis, including this first single. “‘Cycle’ is probably the most direct ‘pop’ song that I’ve written,” says Jenkins. “I wanted the whole record to be awash with distortion and saturation, but not in a blown-out guitar amp kind of way. Almost every element has been subject to some form of saturation. The musical influences are all the usual suspects – Stereolab, Spacemen 3, Harmonia, Cluster, Suicide,” reveals Martin. “But I think that this album wears them in a much more direct way. For some reason I was a little more wary of that on Let’s Emerge!.”

SPLITKNUCKLE – “LIES THEY HIDE BEHIND”
UK death-metallic hardcore band Splitknuckle say they have a new record coming soon, and while details of that are still to come, they’ve shared a new single, “Lies They Hide Behind,” as they head out on tour with Gridiron and Missing Link.

JESSIE WARE – “AUTOMATIC” FT COLMAN DOMINGO
“’Automatic’ was the first song where I really felt like I was bringing the dance and soul world together for this album,” says Jessie Ware of the latest single from her upcoming album Superbloom. “I wrote it with Kamille, Karma Kid and Baz. Karma had this amazing sample and groove, and it all clicked instantly. Kamille and I couldn’t stop writing; it just flowed really naturally. That’s probably what I love most about it, it feels effortless and like it can exist in any setting.It’s a celebration of romance and connection. I was actually the voice at the beginning at first, but I wanted someone sexier and smoother and I knew Colman Domingo was the man for the job! He comes in as this ‘voice of the love gods.’”

HOLD MY OWN – “NEGATIVE SHIT” (FT. FATAL REALM’S MIKE SHAW)
Chicago hardcore band Hold My Own release their first full-length album, Pay No Mind, on April 17 via Daze, and new single “Negative Shit” has Gregory Flachetto trading vocals with Fatal Realm’s Mike Shaw.

WIDGET – “DOGS DON’T LIE”
London group Widget describe “Dogs Don’t Lie” as a “sonnet for the chronically online, a love song for the memetically inclined. Is there a more factual statement in all human history than simply ‘Dogs don’t lie’? Have you ever had a better friend? Also how many cowbells are too many cowbells?” New album Classy Hits Vol.2 is out April 24.

PUZZLED PANTHER – “STRANGE MEMORY”
Puzzled Panther are working on their new album, currently set for a September release via Casa Gogol Records, and they’ve given us a preview with the frenetic “Strange Memory.”

PAUL MCCARTNEY – “THE DAYS WE LEFT BEHIND”
Paul McCartney has announced a new album, The Boys of Dungeon Lane, which will be out May 29 via MPL/Capitol. (Preorder it on vinyl.) It was made with producer Andrew Watt (Rolling Stones, Eddie Vedder) over the last five years and is described as “a collection of rare and revealing glimpses into memories never-before shared along with some newly inspired love songs.”

TIM KASHER’S HOME PHONE – “DYING ANIMAL” & “THE COLLAPSE”
Tim Kasher of Cursive and The Good Life announced a new album as Tim Kasher’s home phone that he wrote over a single long weekend, and shared the first two singles. Read more about them here.

SOFT CELL – “OUT COME THE FREAKS” (WAS NOT WAS COVER)
Soft Cell have announced their final album, Danceteria, which will be out later this spring via Republic of Music. It was completed prior to the death of cofounder Dave Ball in October 2025 and was inspired by the New York City nightlife of the early ’80s, specifically legendary club Danceteria. First single is a cover of Was (Not Was)’s mutant disco classic, featuring Nona Hendryx on backing vocals.

THE SADDEST LANDSCAPE – “THE INVISIBLE HURT”
Boston screamo/post-hardcore band The Saddest Landscape gave us another taste of their first new album in a decade with “The Invisible Hurt,” which features Julien Baker. Read more about it here.
