So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
NAVY BLUE – “ORCHARDS”
Experimental rapper Navy Blue has announced a new album, The Sword & The Soaring, due November 11 via Freedom Sounds. It has 16 songs and one guest (Earl Sweatshirt), and the blissfully jazzy lead single “Orchards” is out now.

ANNA VON HAUSSWOLFF – “AGING YOUNG WOMAN” FT. ETHEL CAIN
Ahead of its release on Halloween, Anna von Hausswolff shared another track off her new album ICONOCLASTS. “Aging Young Woman” featuring Ethel Cain, and Anna says it’s “about when the passing of time becomes a negative notion due to unfulfilled dreams and a feeling that a tainted situation is impossible to change to the contrary.”

TIGRA AND SPNCR – “GUILLOTINE” FEAT. L’TRIMM
Do you like the cars — the cars that go boom? If so you might be excited to learn that L’Trimm (Lady Tigra and Bunny D) have reunited on this fun new single by Tigra and SPNCR. It’s on their upcoming EP, Black Rice, that’s out January 14 via {PIAS] Électronique.

GUM (MEMS POND) – “EXPANDING BLUE”
GUM, aka Jay Watson of Pond and Tame Impala, has announced his first single for King Gizzard’s p(doom) label. “‘Expanding Blue’ starts out as a jazz inspired meditation, and turns into something spiritual for me, like a lost gospel soul record or something.”

GUMM – “ONE THING AT A TIME”
Gum are not to be confused with Gumm, whose new album Beneath The Wheel arrives this Friday and whose new single “One Thing At A Time” is also out today.

SUN DONT SHINE – “IN THE END”
Sun Dont Shine, the supergroup featuring Crowbar vocalist/guitarist Kirk Windstein, Type O Negative guitarist/vocalist Kenny Hickey and drummer/vocalist Johnny Kelly, and former Crowbar bassist Todd Strange, will release their debut LP, Birth To Death, early next year via Corpse Paint Records, and they’re shared another track off of it. “‘In The End’ is a great example of what we want Sun Dont Shine to sound like,” Windstein says. “It’s got dynamics, melody and a bit of heaviness to it.”

CHARMER – “KAKARIKO”
Michigan emo band Charmer are already having a great year thanks to the release of their new album Downpour, and now they’ve put out another catchy new single for Counter Intuitive Records’ upcoming 10th anniversary compilation.

VIAL – “IDLE HANDS”
VIAL have released their second single of 2025, and this one finds them veering into Nirvana/Hole-style grunge territory.

DITZ – “DON ENZO MAGIC CARPET SALESMAN” & “KALIMBA SONG”
UK post-punks DITZ have followed this year’s Never Exhale with a new two-song single. It features a shapeshifting, nine-minute trip called “Don Enzo Magic Carpet Salesman” and the dark, beat-driven “Kalimba Song.”

TENDERNESS (PEGGY SUE) – “WE’LL ALWAYS HAVE PARIS 1919”
Katy Beth Young of ’00s era UK band Peggy Sue is now making solo music under the name Tenderness and will release her debut album True on March 13th via Amorphous Sound.

MELODY’S ECHO CHAMBER – “EYES CLOSED”
“My eyes are closed not in denial, but in devotion—to vibrant memories, to the complexity of human feelings, to seeing more deeply,” says Melody Prochet of her new Melody’s Echo Chamber single. “It’s also driven by a resilient aesthetic that emphasizes the beauty of transient things and the bittersweet feeling of their impermanence.” New album Unclouded is out December 5.

HAPPY MONDAYS – STEP ON (PAUL OAKENFOLD REMIX)
Happy Mondays are celebrating their 40th anniversary with a new compilation, The Factory Singles, and newly commissioned remixes from the likes of Daniel Avery and Anna Prior. First up though is this new remix of their hit “Step On” by Paul Oakenfold who co-produced the original recording. “When I listen back to Step On now, it still sounds dangerous,” Paul says. “It still sounds alive. And it still gets dancefloors moving. That’s the test of real music – not how it charts, but how it feels decades later. To be able to come back to it 35 years on and give it a fresh spin is special. It’s not just nostalgia – it’s about showing that the spirit of the track still connects, still has that edge, and can still light up a dancefloor today.”

JORGE ELBRECHT / GALÁN – “BRILLANTE COLOR”
Jorge Elbrecht, of Violens and Lansing-Dreiden, is back with this new sweeping, Spanish-language single that is being released through his new Galán project.

THE ORIELLES – “THREE HALVES”
UK trio The Orielles have announced their fourth album, Only You Left, which will be out March 13 via Heavenly. It was made in Hamburg and the Greek island of Hydra with producer and longtime collaborator Joel Anthony Patchett.

ULRIKA SPACEK – “BUILD A BOX THEN BREAK IT”
London psychedelic art-rock band Ulrika Spacek have announced their fourth album, EXPO, which will be released on February 7 via Full Time Hobby. The band produced it themselves, recording in London and Stockholm, and they say “in an age of hyperindividualism we are proud to say it is our most collective effort yet.”
