So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
KYLIE MINOGUE – “LIGHTS CAMERA ACTION” & CONFIDENCE MAN REMIX
Kylie’s new album Tension II is out in just a couple weeks and cinematically inspired new single, and a remix from Aussie duo Confidence Man.

KELE – “IT WASN’T MEANT TO BE”
Bloc Party frontman Kele will release new album The Singing Winds Pt.3 — the third in his “Elements” series — on January 17 via KOLA / K7! “Once the dust has settled there might be the intention to be a grown up and achieve closure with the other party but sometimes,” he says of this singlke, “even with the best will in the world you can’t get past the fact that this person, who you once loved, has hurt you. It’s a song about anger concealed in pleasantries.”

KEEP SHELLY IN ATHENS – “KNOTTY EYES”
Greek band Keep Shelly in Athens are rocking strong Miami Vice vibes — dig that gated drumroll and synth solo! — on this new single.

THE WEEKND – “TIMELESS” (ft. PLAYBOI CARTI, prod. PHARRELL)
The Weeknd’s release date for Hurry Up Tomorrow is still TBA, but he did just share its first single, “Timeless,” which features Playboi Carti and was produced by Pharrell. It finds The Weeknd in moody R&B mode, with echoes of his mixtape era.

RAUW ALEJANDRO – “PASAPORTE”
Rauw Alejandro has announced a new album, Cosa Nuestra, due November 15 via Sony Music Latin, and the Puerto Rican star is in new-wavey synthpop mode on new single “Pasaporte,” which was made in collaboration with Mr. NaisGai and SG Lewis.

TONY DIZE – “QUISIERA”
Reggaeton veteran Tony Dize had a resurgence when he appeared on “La Corriente” off Bad Bunny’s 2022 album Un Verano Sin Ti, and now he signed to Bad Bunny’s record label Rimas Entertainment and released his first new single in almost a decade, “Quisiera.”

GLEEMER – “HALF SMILE”
Colorado’s shoegazy Gleemer will release new album End of the Nail on December 6 via Other People Records, and today they’ve shared lead single “Half Smile.”

LEON BRIDGES – “THAT’S WHAT I LOVE”
Leon Bridges’ new album Leon is out next week, and he’s shared another advance single from it, “That’s What I Love.” “This track is a special one for me,” he says. “It’s a reflection of my journey, the places I’ve been, and the things that truly bring me joy. It’s about celebrating the little things that make us who we are. It’s a tribute to the warmth of family, the charm of Texas, and the nostalgia that ties us all together.”

BENT BLUE – “THE PEARLS YOU CLUTCH”
San Diego melodic hardcore band Bent Blue announced a new album, So Much Seething, due October 25 via Indecision Records. Here’s the rippin’ lead single “The Pearls You Clutch.”

BLOOD INCANTATION – “THE STARGATE”
Blood Incantation’s highly anticipated new album Absolute Elsewhere comes out next week (10/4) via Century Media, and today they’ve shared the entirety of Side A, a 20-ish minute piece broken up into three parts called “The Stargate.” It’s accompanied by a short film, and you can read more about it here.

LAKE – “ACCIDENTALLY IN LOVE” (COUNTING CROWS COVER)
Shrek 2 Retold, “3GI Industries’ crowd-sourced, scene-for-scene remake of the greatest sequel ever made,” goes as far as to recreate the soundtrack, too. Pacific Northwest indie vets have shared their contribution, an understated cover of Counting Crows’ “Accidentally in Love.”

HORACE ANDY & JAH WOBBLE – “ONE LOVE” (MASSIVE ATTACK COVER)
Reggae legend Horace Andy has a new album made with post-punk great and bass icon Jah Wobble where he revisits some of this most famous songs, including “Skylarking,” his version of “Ain’t No Sunshine,” and Massive Attack’s Blue Lines classic “One Love” which he sang on.

W.C. BECK & THE PORTLAND COUNTRY UNDERGROUND – “A LETTER FROM A FRIEND”
Brooklyn country singer W.C. Beck will release new album Facecomber on October 25. First single “A Letter from a Friend” is light n’ twangy.

THE PLUM VILLAGE BAND – “INVOCATION”
The Plum Village Band, made up of Buddhist monks and nuns at the famed Plum Village monastery in Dordogne, France have made an album, A Cloud Never Dies, which was produced by Jack Peñate. “The essence of the album is to invite listeners on a journey of insight that allows us to get in touch with, and transform, our suffering and grief,” said Brother Phap Huu, abbott of Plum Village Monastery’s Upper Hamlet and a longtime attendant of Thich Nhat Hanh’s. “At the same time, it invites listeners to be in touch with love and inspiration.”
