So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
NAILS – “GIVE ME THE PAINKILLER”
Nails have shared the second taste of their anticipated, long-awaited new album Every Bridge Burning, and it’s another grindy hardcore scorcher.

EQUIPMENT – “TEQUILA REDBULL”
Equipment released one of last year’s best emo albums with Alt. Account, and they’ve just shared another great song ahead of their stint opening part of Cloud Nothings’ Here and Nowhere Else 10th anniversary tour.

ARMLOCK – “FEAR”
Australian indie rock duo Armlock’s Run For Cover debut comes out this Friday and here’s one more single ahead of its release. Like Equipment, Armlock also open part of that Cloud Nothings tour.

WISHY – “SICK SWEET”
Wishy’s anticipated debut LP Triple Seven is out next month, and the latest single is the shoegazey “Sick Sweet.” “This song is about wanting something or someone despite doubts or misgivings,” Kevin Krauter says, “and laying it all on the line to see it through. I was inspired by an Oasis interview asking Liam Gallagher what his lyrics are generally about and he says something to the effect of ‘Just living life’ and ‘Just going for it.’ That’s the energy I put into this song.”

REMA – “HEHEHE”
Nigerian pop singer Rema will release his new album Heis this week (7/11), and it’ll include the cinematic new single “HEHEHE.”

CORNELIUS – “MIND TRAIN”
Cornelius just released an album of ambient-leaning material and he’s already back with a new single. “Mind Train” is a nearly 10-minute trip, steeped in driving kruatrock rhythms and comes with a hypnotic video.

BENT KNEE – “ILLITERATE”
Bent Knee have announced a new album, Twenty Pills Without Water, due August 30 via Take This To Heart, and their twitchy art pop is in fine form on new single “Illiterate.”

KATY J PEARSON – “SKY”
Katy J Pearson’s new album Someday, Now is out in September, and she’s given us another early taste with “Sky.” “‘Sky’ is a special one for me,” she says. “It was a very uplifting one to create and it felt really necessary at the time to write a song about telling myself that I am enough! Writing songs is a bizarre and magical thing and before I started thinking about album 3 I was pretty scared and felt a lot of doubt but this song really calmed my negative thoughts! I hope it does the same for you toooo!”

KESHA – “JOYRIDE”
Kesha is officially free of Dr. Luke’s Kemosabe Records and RCA, and her first independent single is the bratty, bouncy “JOYRIDE.”

ROBYN HITCHCOCK – “ITCHYCOO PARK” (SMALL FACES COVER) FT KIMBERLY REW
Robyn Hitchcock just released his memoir, 1967: How I Got There and Why I Never Left, last week, and now he’s announced a companion album, titled 1967: Vacations In The Past, which will be out September 13 via Tiny Ghost. In the memoir, Robyn explains why 1967 (when he was 14) was such a formative year for music, and the album features covers of songs from the era, including ones by Pink Floyd, The Move, The Kinks, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Small Faces, Traffic, and more. This cover of the Small Faces’ classic features Robyn’s former Soft Boys bandmate Kimberly Rew.

SAULT – ACTS OF FAITH
It’s been nearly two years since enigmatic UK collective SAULT released five albums on the same day and they’re finally back with new music. The album is titled Acts of Faith and, in typical fashion, the album was released without advance notice and dropped for free as a WeTransfer download on Saturday.

MEMORIALS (ELECTRELANE / WIRE) – “CUT IT LIKE A DIAMOND”
MEMORIALS, the duo of Verity Susman (Electrelane) and Matthew Simms (It Hugs Back / Wire), have announced their debut album, Memorial Waterslides, which will be out October 4 via Fire Records. It follows their two excellent documentary soundtracks, Women Against The Bomb and Tramps!, which were released last year.

THE VOIDZ – “OVERATURE”
Julian Casablancas and the rest of The Voidz will release Like All Before You in September. This is the eerie intro to the album.

LANA DEL REY & QUAVO – “TOUGH”
After much teasing and debuting it live together at Fenway Park, the Lana and Quavo song is here.

EMINEM – “TOBEY” (ft. BIG SEAN & BABYTRON) (VIDEO)
Last week, Eminem dropped the second single from The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce), which arrives this week (7/12), and today he’s shared the song’s music video. Among other things, it features Em rapping in front of his childhood home, the same one pictured on the cover of The Marshall Mathers LP (with the same sepia-toned imagery as the album cover).
