So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
CARDI B – “AH HA”
When Cardi B raps her ass off on a taunting, shit-talking banger, there’s nothing else like it. “Ah Ha” is one of those songs.

SLAYYYTER – “BRAND NEW CHANEL$”
Slayyyter released one of the year’s best albums so far with WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA, and, on the same day she is playing Lollapalooza, she released a sequel to one of the album’s best songs, “Beat Up Chanel$.” Both the song and video for “Brand New Chanel$” feature callbacks to the original, but “Beat Up”‘s trash-pop is replaced with something a little more uplifting on this one.

WOLF ALICE – “HAMMOND SONG” (THE ROCHES COVER)
Wolf Alice have covered The Roches’ 1979 folk-pop classic “Hammond Song” for their upcoming 7″ The Clearing: B Sides, and their version features backing vocals from Julia Cumming (of Sunflower Bean) and Bria Salmena. The 7″ drops on August 21.

CHROME SPARKS – “SLEEPER” (FT. JÓNSI & KHALID)
“Over the last seven years, I’ve focused mostly on collaborations and other artists’ projects,” Jeremy Malvin says of his new Chrome Sparks single, which features Khalid and Sigur Rós’ Jónsi. “‘Ball of Light’ is me finding myself again.”

OPEN MIKE EAGLE & KENNY SEGAL – “SHE SWEAR I’M COLORBLIND” (ft. BILLY WOODS)
Open Mike Eagle and Kenny Segal have shared the billy woods collab from their upcoming album DOOMED!, a woozy jazz-rap song called “She Swear I’m Colorblind.”

SOBxRBE – “TEN SUMMERS”
Bay Area rap group SOBxRBE are back with their first song in seven years, “Ten Summers,” and it finds their melodic West Coast rap in fine form.

SEASICK STEVE – “BOOTSTRAPS”
Here’s another song from Seasick Steve’s upcoming album The Last Season of America. “You can’t really pick yourself up by your bootstraps,” Steve notes, “but you can sure as hell try.”

REMI WOLF – “TWIGGY”
“I wrote Twiggy about people I’ve been with that lack both butts and emotional availability,” Remi Wolf says of her first new song in two years, which she debuted during Hayley Williams’ Newport Folk Festival set last weekend. “And how I like that. Or maybe it’s just about the messiness of addiction? Idk, you decide :)”

CLUB 8 – “THE SWEETNESS OF HONEY”
Swedish indie vets Club 8 have announced new album Weeks of Golden Beat which will be out in September. This is the charming first single.

LOS BITCHOS – “HANG UP (PT 2)” FT SINKANE & ADRIAN QUESADA
London-based instrumental band Los Bitchos are back with their first new music in a minute, a collaboration between Sinkane and Adrian Quesada.

THE DRUMS FT MAREUX – “IT DIDN’T MATTER”
The Drums are back with their first single for their just-launched label Abysmal Records. “It Didn’t Matter” features Iranian American artist Mareux. “Not since writing my earliest music has a song come together so effortlessly.,” says Jonny Pierce. “Whenever that happens, it makes me feel certain the song was meant to exist—that it needed to be here, for all of us. Mareux’s synthesizer wizardry threw me back to my teenage years, when almost everything I listened to was synthesizer-based music, especially synth-pop. His sounds, textures, and perfect pop chord changes reminded me of the soundtrack to such a tender time in my life—when I was desperate for love but just couldn’t find it, and synthesizers became the soundtrack to my sadness. This one is for those of us who keep banging our heads against the wall of another heart, only to be given nothing in return.”

BILLY STRINGS – “MILL TOWN FLOOD”
“I made this record to honor my mother,” Billy Stings says. “To notice and embrace this very significant period of grief in my life and make art from it. To turn my heartbreak into songs while using my guitar as a coping mechanism as I always have. It’s always been there for me to lean on through the hard times, and I figure it always will…until it’s my time to say goodbye.” New album So Much For Goodbyes is out August 28.

BOGLE – “LETTER”
Glasgow has a long history of jangly indie and the latest in that line is bogle who just released this very catchy new single.

TOM WAITS – “THE FLY”
“Today, as in all of mankind’s yesterdays, guarantees this type of song will never go out of style,” says Tom Waits of this new track “Man’s folly of fiascos is a feast for the flies. Hence, the B side of Massive Attack’s upcoming 12 inch ‘The Fly’ features my appreciation for the winged nuisance.”
