So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. LADY GAGA & DOECHII – “RUNWAY”
Lady Gaga and Doechii’s new collaborative single “Runway” was written by Bruno Mars, Jaylah Hickmon, Gaga, Andrew Watt, Henry Walter, Dernst “D’Mile” Emile II and Jayda Love, and produced by Mars, Watt, Cirkut and D’Mile. It’s the first music from The Devil Wears Prada 2, which is in theaters on May 1.

Foo Fighters will release new album Your Favorite Toy on April 24 and here’s your last early taste before the whole thing drops.

KEHLANI – “BACK AND FORTH” (FT. MISSY ELLIOTT)
Kehlani’s self-titled album is out later this month, and she’s given us a final preview with “Back and Forth,” featuring Missy Elliott. “Missy; your contribution to art.. of EVERY genre never goes unnoticed,” Kehlani writes. “But especially to RnB… from your own songs, to features, the direction, the writing, the backs & your push to visually take it ON ONE.. you’ll always be a hero of mine. LOVE BURNS – “YOU HAVE TO BE SAD”
Love, Burns is the solo project of Phil Sutton (Comet Gain, Pale Lights) and he’s announced new album Pavement Drawings will be out May 29. Fans of Felt will certainly like opening track “You Have to Be Sad.”

WILLOW AVALON – “CARDINAL SIN” (FT. JASON ISBELL)
Country singer Willow Avalon announced a new album, Pink Pocket Pistol, due out June 26 via Atlantic Outpost/Assemble Sound. New single “Cardinal Sin” is a duet with Jason Isbell, and Avalon says, “It’s one of my favorite songs on the record and it’s one of my favorites that I’ve ever written. Having Jason on it was icing on the cake; I’ve loved him for forever. I have four Jason Isbell CDs in my car, another 400 in my house, and I have driven around for the last five years harmonizing with his voice and thinking how insane it would be to sing with him. I’m still so honored that it happened.”

PURITY RING – “LEMONLIME”
Montreal’s Purity Ring announced North American tour dates today and with it comes this new ethereal dancepop single.

ALLISON RUSSELL – “NO SPRINGTIME” (FT. JOY OLADOKUN & JULIE WILLIAMS)

Doom merchants Khemmis will release new self-titled album on June 12 and this is the sludgy opening salvo.

MEG LUI – “DREAMS” (THE CRANBERRIES COVER FT. SUFJAN STEVENS)
Meg Lui is working on her debut LP for Asthmatic Kitty, and while that’s in progress, she’s shared a new cover of The Cranberries’ “Dreams,” which was produced by and features Sufjan Stevens.

ISAIAH RASHAD – “SAME SHIT”
“Conceptually, the song reflects what matters most to me- my family, taking care of myself, and the everyday grind,” Isiah Rashad says of his bluntly named new single. “At its core, it’s about hustling, showing up and putting in the work every single da. With all the experimentation and sounds across the album, I wanted to ensure there was something that spoke directly to where I’m from, for my older brothers, for that core audience. It’s that trunk-rattling type of record.” New album It’s Been Awful is out May 1.

MAYA HAWKE – “BRING HOME MY MAN”
Maya Hawke’s fourth album, Maitreya Corso, is out in May, and she’s given us another preview with “Bring Home My Man,” which she says is “everything I think I could reasonably promise another person.”

MARBLED EYE – “SOMETHING’S DIFFERENT”
Post-punks Marbled Eye are back with the Forever EP on May 22 via Digital Regress. “Something’s Different” is the snarling first single.

ALABAMA SHAKES – “AMERICAN DREAM”
“It’s a snapshot of what we’re living through in 2026,” says Brittany Howard of Alamaba Shakes’ simmering new protest single. “I look around and wonder how we got to a place where there’s so much strain and so little support. I mean, it shouldn’t be impossible to take off work so you can bring your child to the doctor—that’s actually insane. My hope is that one day people will hear this song and say, ‘Yeah, shit was crazy back then, but we made it through.’”
