So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
ANDRÉ 3000 – “MOVING DAY”
Not only did André 3000 release a new flute-fueled ambient jazz song for the TRAИƧA compilation that’s out today, he also released the standalone new single “Moving Day,” which was also featured in a short film celebrating the one-year anniversary of his album New Blue Sun.

LCD SOUNDSYSTEM – “X-RAY EYES (EXTENDED TRASH CAN DUB)”
LCD Soundsystem, who just began their 2024 NYC holiday residency last night, are selling limited edition 12″ of new single “X-Ray Eyes” at their shows, and they’ve just shared the extended dub version, that’s on the b-side. At nearly 10 minutes, it gets weird and is maybe better than the original.

BRUTUS – “PARADISE”
Belgian post-hardcore/post-metal/etc band Brutus have shared a towering new song written for the Streamz Original show Putain.

FRIKO – “WHEN YOU SLEEP” (MY BLOODY VALENTINE COVER)
The expanded edition of Friko’s great debut full-length album Where we’ve been, Where we go from here is out today, and included among the bonus tracks is a cover of My Bloody Valentine’s Loveless track “When You Sleep.”

ILLUMINATI HOTTIES – “DECEMBER” (NECK DEEP COVER)
Hopeless Records’ 30th anniversary covers series continues today with indie-punk eccentric illuminati hotties taking on a song by pop punk true believers Neck Deep.

YOUTH LAGOON – “THE HARVEST”
Youth Lagoon’s pretty, contemplative new instrumental piece “The Harvest” is from section1’s new compilation of solo piano music, piano1.

DEATH GOALS – “COVO”
UK queer/sasscore duo Death Goals follow their recent “Knife Bouquet” single and their split with Dreamwell with another delightfully chaotic new song, “COVO.”

MATT POND PA – “KOREA”
“I wrote ‘Korea’ after collaborating with Chris Hansen to score footage of an American soldier overseas in 1959,” Matt Pond says of the latest single off his new album The Ballad of the Natural Lines, due out on February 7. “There was an earnest openness to the film that struck me. It felt as though the camera was searching for something—yet at the same time, it was accepting, fully open to this world across the ocean. We recorded the song in my basement and remotely with an incredible group: Chris Hansen on guitar, Hilary James on cello, Dan Ford and Kyle Kelly-Yahner on drums, and me. I wanted to incorporate a Korean voice to complete the journey. I connected with Mary Choi through a friend of a friend. Our conversations, first over email and then by phone, focused on the meaning and emotion her words should convey. In the end, she recorded her secret reflections in a closet in her home.”

L.S. DUNES – “PAPER TIGER”
Post-hardcore supergroup L.S. Dunes (members of My Chemical Romance, Thursday, Circa Survive, and Coheed & Cambria) have shared the third single from their upcoming sophomore album Violet, and it comes with a visualizer created by Cedric Bixler-Zavala of At the Drive-In and The Mars Volta.
