So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
MAGDALENA BAY – “SECOND SLEEP” & “STAR EYES”
Magdalena Bay have shared their first new music since their fantastic 2024 album Imaginal Disk, the soaring, widescreen anthem “Second Sleep” and the moodier, more subdued “Star Eyes.” “‘Second Sleep’ and ‘Star Eyes’ are two songs we made around the end of Imaginal Disk––both a sort of spiritual successor to the album’s mood and emotional arc,” the band say. “We like how they complement each other, so here they are as a pair.”

SYD – “GMFU”
Syd returned with her first new music in three years, “Die For This,” in July, and now she’s followed that with “GMFU,” another airy R&B anthem that features Raphael Saadiq on bass.

ICE SPICE – “BADDIE BADDIE”
Ice Spice has shared her second new single (following “Gyatt” with Latto), and this one is fueled by a prominent sample of M.I.A.’s classic “Bad Girls.”

POHGOH – “I’M A FAN” / SAMUEL S.C. – “EVERGREEN”
Two ’90s-era emo bands, Pohgoh and Samuel S.C., are releasing a split EP on October 8 via New Granada. One song from each band is out now, and both tracks are great.

KREATOR – “SEVEN SERPENTS”
German thrash legends Kreator have announced their 16th album, Krushers of the World, due January 16 via Nuclear Blast. The whiplash-inducing new single “Seven Serpents” finds the band sounding as intense as ever.

SOULFLY – “NIHILIST” (ft. TODD JONES of NAILS)
Soulfly are releasing their new Arthur Rizk-assisted album Chama on October 24 via Nuclear Blast, and Max Cavalera & co have tapped Nails’ Todd Jones for new single “Nihilist.”

SARAH KINSLEY – “FLEETING”
Sarah Kinsley is back with her first new music since her great 2024 debut Escaper. “Fleeting” is a jubilant slice of alt-pop, and Kinsley says, “‘Fleeting’ is my catharsis: an anthem dedicated to the flood of change. It is my homage to the transience of what it means to be alive: who am I if every moment is fleeting.”

1010BENJA – “YAM”
1010benja has announced a three-song EP, 3X10, due out October 31 via Tabloid. Here’s lead single “YAM,” which stands for “Your Ass, Mine.”

Country singer Colter Wall has announced a new album, Memories and Empties, and the first single is “1800 Miles.” Read more about it here.

Hop Along’s Frances Quinlan and Thin Lips’ Kyle Pulley have a new band, Parts Work. Their self-titled debut EP comes out on October 24 and lead single “Trenton” is out now. Read about it here.
