So many artists, so many songs, so little time. GROWING STONE – “NO SUBSTITUTE”
Growing Stone, the solo project of Taking Meds vocalist/guitarist Skylar Sarkis, has shared the second taste of his upcoming album Death of a Momma’s Boy. It’s another gorgeously somber singer/songwriter song, and Skylar excels in this mode just as much as he does in a loud punk band.

Nate Amos says “Perfect Hand” is about “clarity in the muck – you’ve been headed in a direction so long you don’t know why anymore, and suddenly there’s a moment when you remember and it brings you peace of some kind, like waking up in a good way.” Nate’s new This is Lorelei album is out this week.

LOS CAMPESINOS! – “0898 HEARTACHE”
All Hell, Los Campesinos!’ first album in seven years, arrive next month, and they’ve shared the third single, the propulsive “0898 HEARTACHE.”

SNÕÕPER / PRISON AFFAIR – SPLIT EP
Nashville band Snõõper have teamed up with likeminded Barcelona group Prison Affair for this split 7″ featuring three under-two-minute blasts from both groups.

IMMERSION (COLIN NEWMAN/MALKA SPIGEL) – “I’M BARELY HERE” FT CUBZOA
Immersion, the duo of Wire’s Colin Newman and Minimal Compact’s Malka Spigel, have a new EP of collaborations out soon and on “I’m Barely Here” they work with Cubzoa, aka Jack Wolter from Penelope Isles.

JAHNAH CAMILLE – “CARNIVAL SOUNDS”
Jahnah Camille’s debut EP, i tried to freeze light, but only remember a girl, is out on June 21 via Winspear, and she’s given us another early taste with “Carnival Sounds,” which she says is “about feeling like a joke in every sense. Nothing I say makes sense and I can’t get any of my phrasing right. It’s interesting because I don’t really feel like it’s changed with time but my highly critical conscience has gotten quieter. I’ve always felt from an extremely young age that even when I try to conform, it makes me feel seen as more of a freak and this is how I coped. Like a seal with a ball on its nose or a monkey on a unicycle. You’re intrigued by the animal itself and their actions don’t make you feel like it’s any more of a usual situation.”

NILÜFER YANYA – “METHOD ACTOR”
“Method Actor” may be Nilüfer Yanya’s most rocking song yet, while still working within her dreamy/groovy style. It’s the almost title track to her just-announced third album.

NAILS – “IMPOSING WILL”
Nails have finally, officially announced their long-teased first album in eight years, Every Bridge Burning, and they’ve shared lead single “Imposing Will.” Read more about it here.
