So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. Kelsey Lu gave us another preview of their new album So Help Me God with the lush, gorgeous “Portrait of a Lady on Fire.”

SOCIAL DISTORTION – “PARTNERS IN CRIME”
“‘Partners In Crime’ is about finding your voice, especially if you weren’t allowed or if it didn’t matter,” says Social Distortion founder Mike Ness about their new single. “And finding comfort in others who share the same sentiment, angst and rage. Strength in unity.” The band’s new album is out May 8 via Epitaph.

BAD STUFF – “SUMMER GIRLS”
Bad Stuff (featuring True Widow’s Dan Phillips and Nicole Estill) announced their self-titled debut, due out June 5 via Relapse, and shared the first single, gothy post-punk track “Summer Girls,”

SEEFEEL – “UNTIL NOW”
Seefeel’s first full-length album in 15 years is due in a couple weeks and here’s another atmospheric early taste from these electronic post-rock greats.

ROSA WALTON – “HALFWAY ROUND THE WORLD”
Rosa Walton of Let’s Eat Grandma releases her debut solo album in June, and she’s given us another preview with dreamy, shimmery indie pop track “Halfway Round the World.” “A lot is to do with light,” she says. “I view these songs as being on a high-up plain. My reality a lot of the time is of walking around with my head in the clouds so that, to me, is normal.”

MARY HALVORSON & AMBROSE AKINMUSIRE – “SOUNDCHECK”
Guitarist Mary Halvorson and trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire will release album Slo-Mo Neon Luminate Hoverings on June 5 via Nonesuch. They each composed four pieces for the album and collaborated on Soundcheck.”

TASHA – “SUMMER”
Tasha is back with her first new music since her 2024 album All This and So Much More, and while she wrote it that year, she recorded it more recently. “‘Summer’ was written in June of 2024 in the middle of my Broadway run with Illinoise,” she says. “It’s a reflection on the bitter-sweet acceptance of saying goodbye to someone or something important to you in pursuance of a different, meaningful magic.”

GENRE IS DEATH – “I SEE RED”
Duo Genre is Death (guitarist Ty Varesi and bassist Tayler Lee) will release Attractive People on May 1 and here’s the moody “I See Red” from it. The video was directed by experimental film icon Jasmine Hirst.

MODERN WOMAN – “JOHNNY’S DREAMWORLD”
London band Modern Woman release their debut album, Johnny’s Dreamworld, next month, and they’ve shared the title track. “I spend a lot of time in my head, and I like thinking of my mind and other people’s minds like a location sometimes, a dreamworld – I like that reading and particularly music can take you into spaces in those places you haven’t explored before,” bandleader Sophie Harris says.

MY NEW BAND BELIEVE – “KICK ME”
Former black midi member Cameron Picton releases the self titled debut from his new group My New Band Believe tomorrow and here he is already releasing a brand new song that’s not on that album.

BROWN HORSE – “COMEBACK LOADING”
Ahead of the release of their new album Total Dive on Friday, Brown Horse shared a final advance single, “Comeback Loading,” which you can read more about here.
