So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
TYLER, THE CREATOR – “MOTHER”
Tyler, the Creator just released an expanded edition of last year’s excellent Chromakopia, which features one new song, “Mother.” It’s nestled within the album at track 12 of 15, it fits right in lyrically and musically, and it already feels just as strong as the material that did make the original LP.

BOYS LIFE – “ALWAYS”
Kansas City emo veterans Boys Life have shared the second taste from their upcoming EP Ordinary Wars, which will be their first release in 29 years. Like the recently-released “Ordinary War,” “Always” is definitely not just the sound of a band reliving their glory years.

KEIYAA – “K.I.S.S.”
keiyaA’s sophomore album hooke’s law arrives this Friday, and ahead of its release she’s “K.I.S.S.,” a maximalist R&B track.

COMMONER – “BREACH”
Tucson, AZ grungegazers Commoner signed to Pure Noise and their first single for the label is “Breach.”

THE CRIBS – “A POINT TOO HARD TO MAKE”
The Cribs’ Gary Jarman says this new single is about “All that 2000’s damage, basically,” adding, “Small-town romantics – years spent longing for connection, escape, excitement – given in abundance, for an entire decade. What do you do when the party is over? Where does it leave you? We will let you know if/when we get there. We’ve still got each other though. That’s what this one is about, a bit of a kitchen-sinker, really.” The Cribs’ new album Selling a Vibe is out January 9.

THE SAINTS – “GASOLINE” & “CARNIVORE (LONG MARCH THROUGH THE JAZZ AGE)”
Two more songs from the final Saints’ album, Long March Through the Jazz Age, have been shared today.

THE CONVENIENCE – “ANGEL”
New Orleans duo The Convenience follow up this year’s excellent Like Cartoon Vampires with this new single. “Angel” is mellow but very engaging.

THE SOFT PINK TRUTH – “TIME INSIDE THE VIOLET”
Matmos’ Drew Daniel has announced his new album as The Soft Pink Truth, titled Can Such Delightful Times Go On Forever?, which will be out January 30 via Thrill Jockey. He says of this first single, “The phrase ‘time inside the violet’ appears in a poem written by my friend Chris Nealon, and I use it with his kind permission. This entire album is a reflection on time, its passage and retrieval, and the emotional turbulence that can wash over you as you feel time’s irreversibility.

THE TWILIGHT SAD FT ROBERT SMITH – “WAITING FOR THE PHONE CALL”
The Twilight Sad are back with “Waiting for a Call,” their first new music in seven years, which is out now via Mogwai’s Rock Action label. For it they got old friend and tourmate Robert Smith of The Cure to play guitar on it.

RATBOYS – “ANYWHERE”
Ratboys announced a new album, Singin’ to an Empty Chair, and gave us a preview with “Anywhere,” which you can read more about here.

GEOLOGIST – “TONIC”
Animal Collective’s Geologist will release his first solo album in 2026 and the is the hurdy-gurdy powered first single.
