11 New Songs Out Today

So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.

A$AP ROCKY – “TAILOR SWIF”

A$AP Rocky’s anticipated new album Don’t Be Dumb was at one point supposed to come out today (8/30), but it was pushed back again. Rocky did, however, release a new song today, “Tailor Swif.” According to a press release, Rocky released the song following a leak and it will not be included on Don’t Be Dumb.

LL COOL J – “MURDERGRAM DEUX” (ft. EMINEM)

Eminem has been vocal about how much of an influence LL Cool J is on him for years, and they’ve performed together, but they’ve never made a song together… until now. Titled “Murdergram Deux,” it’s a sequel to “Murdergram” from LL’s 1990 album Mama Said Knock You Out, and it will appear on LL’s first album in 11 years, The FORCE, which arrives next week (9/6). This one was co-produced by Q-Tip (who executive produced the album) and Eminem.

PRIMAL SCREAM – “DEEP DARK WATERS”

Primal Scream have shared the second single from their upcoming album Come Again. “‘Deep Dark Waters’ is influenced by the writings of Franco ‘Bifo’ Berardi,” says frontman Bobby Gillespie. “It contains a warning from history. ‘Those who do not learn from the past are condemned to repeat it’.”

TYCHO – INFINITE HEALTH

Scott Hansen’s new album as Tycho incorporates some rock elements into his signature hazy, ethereal chillout house style.

JHAYCO – “GRECIA”

Jhayco has finally detailed his long-teased new album. Titled Le Clique: Vida Rockstar (X), it’s a 3-part, 29-song album and it features appearances from Peso Pluma, DJ Khaled, Eladio Carrion Yandel, Quevedo, and more. Along with the announcement comes the hard-hitting Latin trap song “Grecia.” The album drops September 6 via Universal Music Latin and you can pre-order and see more details here.

MABEL – “CHAT”

UK pop singer Mabel has been putting out a string of singles this year, and her latest is the airy “Chat.”

BNYX & YEAT – “GO AGAIN”

Rage-rapper Yeat and his frequent producer BNYX sample Superheaven on their new single. Read more here.

BAD OPERATION – “I DON’T WANNA KNOW”

New Orleans ska band Bad Operation dropped a groovy new single and you can read about it here.

RIZZLE KICKS – “JAVELIN”

“Javelin” is UK rap duo Rizzle Kicks first new music in eight years and finds their breezy style, indebted to the late-’80s Native Tongues scene that gave us De La Soul and A Tribe Called Quest, still in fine form.

YANNIS & THE YAW FT TONY ALLEN – “CLEMENTINE”

The closing track from Foals frontman Yannis Philippakis’ new EP featuring the late afrobeat icon Tony Allen is a nice combination of Foals’ funkier side along with overt afrobeat touches, all powered by one of the greatest, most distinctive drummers of the last 50 years.

HAIRCUT ONE HUNDRED – “THE UNLOVING PLUM”

With a blast of breezy horns, ’80s band Haircut One Hundred are back, and “The Unloving Plum” finds frontman Nick Heyward still a master of easy pop melodies and clever turns of phrase. It’s a little more in line with his jangly solo work than the tropical funk of “Favourite Shirt” or “Love Plus 100.”
