That’s a wrap for Oscars 2025. Sean Baker‘s Anora was the night’s big winner, with Baker setting an Oscars record for most awards won in a single year (4) with Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Editing. That’s four of five Anora won with Mikey Madison taking home Best Actress.
Daniel Blumberg, who in the ’00s was a member of Cajun Dance Party and Yuck, won Best Original Score for The Brutalist. That was one of three Oscars for Brady Corbet’s film (the others being Best Actor for Adrian Brody and Best Cinematography).
There may not have been Best Original Song performances this year — Emilia Pérez’s “El Mal” won — but there were musical numbers:
The ceremony opened with Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo performing a medley of songs from The Wizard of Oz, The Wiz, and Wicked and you can watch that below.
Doja Cat, Blackpink‘s Lisa and Raye performed as a tribute to James Bond.
Queen Latifah, Oprah and Whoopi Goldberg paid tribute to Quincy Jones (watch below).
Conan O’Brien did a fine job in his first time as host.
