PacNW black metallers Wolves In The Throne Room have announced a new EP, Crypt of Ancestral Knowledge, due September 29 via Relapse (pre-order). The first single is “Twin Mouthed Spring,” which fuses elements of haunting, atmospheric black metal and dark folk, and which features vocals and acoustic guitar by founding drummer Cedar Serpent, who recently returned to the band’s live lineup after a hiatus from performing. “This song travels to a deep wellspring of passion and creativity,” he says. “Themes from Celtic Mythology are pulled apart and remade.” Listen below.
WITTR are also gearing up for their previously announced tour with Blackbraid, Gaerea, and Hoaxed, which hits NYC’s Brooklyn Monarch on October 8. All dates are listed below.
