Without Peace are a new-ish NJ hardcore band formed by vocalist Rupa Zimkus (ex-Reaching Out) and drummer Michael Kingshott (ex-Floorpunch). They recorded their 2021 demo as just a two-piece, but now they’re a full five-piece band with a debut album, Crash and Burn, arriving December 15 via WAR Records (pre-order).
“Everyone had songs to bring to the table instead of it only being me this time,” Rupa says of the album. “We wrote maybe 12 songs, some of the ones we played live but didn’t make it on the record. After sitting on the songs and sending it to some friends we eventually landed on what the record is now. The easiest part of this whole record was probably recording because we just played the songs and packed it up. It only took us like a day and a half to bang out all the songs.”
We’re premiering new single “Chipped Tooth,” a no-frills, 97-second hardcore ripper and a song that Rupa says “can take on a bunch of meanings, depending on what you want to take from it. For me it’s mostly about how people who think they’re better than you because of their religion. People who are super religious and use that as a weapon against people to put themselves on a pedestal, when deep down they’re a horrible person and it’s gonna surface one day.”
