Northeast hardcore-infused death metallers Vomit Forth recently shared the new single “Blood Soaked Death Dream,” and now they’ve announced their anticipated new album, Terrified Of God. It was produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Randy LeBoeuf (The Acacia Strain, Jesus Piece, etc), and it arrives October 11 via Century Media (pre-order). Vocalist Kane Gelaznik says:
The biggest thing I want to get across with this record and that humanity doesn’t know everything. We are flawed, and in a lot of ways disgusting. We act like we aren’t afraid of what happens after we die. I know most people like to think nothing happens and we just conduct heat. That there’s no consequence other than how we effect other people during our time here, but I know there’s a hint of fear in the back of everyone’s mind. Everyone feels it. Not a single person on this earth lives without being Terrified of God at one point or another in their life.
In addition to “Blood Soaked Death Dream,” the album also includes the just-released new single “Rotting Wool,” which finds the band in all-out brutal ’90s-style death metal mode. The band said their goal was to make “the most unsettling, brutal and scary death metal record of all time,” and it definitely sounds like that’s what they’re going for on “Rotting Wool.”
“’Rotting Wool’ is about how even though we try to deceive ourselves and each other we can’t ultimately hide from the truth,” Kane says. “In the end we all find out if it was all worth it. We can’t hide from it. Our own failures, insecurities, and inner pain. We can put the wool over our eyes, but it will eventually fall away.” Listen and watch the video below.
As recently announced, Vomit Forth are also opening the upcoming The Black Dahlia Murder / Dying Fetus co-headlining tour, alongside AngelMaker and Spite. That hits NYC on November 3 at Irving Plaza. All dates are listed below.
