Pennsylvania post-hardcore veterans This Day Forward recently announced that they’ll be reuniting for their first shows in over 20 years this summer, and now they added more back-in-action vets to the shows. Breaking Pangaea are back to open the first of two Philly shows, and that’s a very rare set for the band who broke up in 2003 and didn’t play again until a one-off 2019 reunion in Philly. Taken (who returned in 2018 with a new EP and whose bassist Nick Beard formed Circa Survive with This Day Forward members Colin Frangicetto and Brendan Ekstrom) are opening Philly night two and the NYC show. Philly night two also has Lansdale, PA hardcore vets CDC and NYC also has Long Island post-hardcore vets On the Might of Princes (who have been playing select shows with Rachel Rubino of Open City and Bridge and Tunnel filling in for the late Jason Rosenthal on lead vocals). There’s also additional support from Omit All at Philly night one and Memory Entry in NYC.
The shows happen on August 23 & 24 at Underground Arts in Philly and August 25 at Bowery Ballroom in NYC. Check out the flyer and videos of the bands below.
