Oxnard hardcore vets The Warriors have announced a new album, Burn Yourself Alive, their first LP in six years, and it’s set to come out in 2025 via Pure Noise (release date TBA). Its first single is actually a re-recording of an old song, “Foreign Pain,” which was originally written for their 2004 debut album War Is Hell and reworked in honor of its 20th anniversary. The new version features fellow Oxnard native and longtime friend Todd Jones of Nails/Terror/Carry On/etc. Listen below. The band says:
This revitalization is elevated by the vocal efforts of Todd Jones- who we can’t thank enough. We felt ‘Foreign Pain’ never got its day in the sun due to the fact that it was buried at the end of the album, and now 20 years later, we’re giving it the love we feel it deserved. The lyrics of “Foreign Pain” highlight the transformative capacity of trauma– a subject that resonates today as much as it did two decades ago.
The Warriors were also announced as one of two openers (alongside Doomsday) on Set Your Goals’ 20th anniversary comeback show, taking place at San Francisco’s Great American Music Hall on February 7. That happens ahead of Set Your Goals’ appearance at When We Were Young 2025. Tickets for the San Francisco show Friday (11/15) at noon Pacific.
The Warriors’ only other upcoming show is opening Stick To Your Guns’ Keep Planting Flowers release show on January 10 at The Observatory in Santa Ana alongside Mugshot, Stateside, and Initiate.
